"It's perfectly fine to infer that people are conspiracy nuts because I have no evidence either way". Cool, cool

I mean suggesting that wilder has only a few targets and refuses to look elsewhere is a conspiracy, unless you have a statement from him this summer confirming something else

When did an opinion backed up by years of actions become a conspiracy?

Exactly, years of actions is an opinion, great bring them on

Years of actions does not equal any level of fact on what the actual wish list is and what we have to play with

Stating as fact that regardless of whatever we have to work with, Wilder will only target these few players is a conspiracy

I don't think you understand what a conspiracy is 🤷‍♂️

I’m not convinced you do either or even recognise you are part of one

Wilder with his secret agendas that he is acting out yet not telling anyone but he is definitely definitely definitely definitely doing it this windrow regardless

Why is having a small or single amount of targets an agenda? A conspiracy has to have an end goal or a reason. Looking at the evidence available to you and discussing it, forming opinions based on analysis is what people do on a daily basis.

I, again, have absolutely no idea what you are even trying to prove. Other than that United fans are twats somehow

Surely you get that the end goal you are suggesting is that wilder has only certain targets or he won’t do anything, that if he can’t get those targets then it’s nothing, we go with what we have

Surely that’s the reason or end game that you are suggesting

Because otherwise we have a few loan options left and will likely still use them if they have broader targets

Showing me who Wilder brought in previously is fine, trying to suggest you discussed it as an opinion rather than discussing it as evidence are two different things but you go ahead

However it’s still only highlighting what was beforehand and without the context of the various budgets at the time and has zero impact, in terms of evidence, as to what we have to play with or not to play with at this point

If you want to believe that it’s evidence that proves beyond doubt it’s factual then fine but it still has no relevance to what this years list is because no one knows the list

You deciding to infer that I’m trying to call other fans is on you not me, that’s how you have chosen to portray it

All I’m stating, not even trying to prove but again, how you choose to interpret is up to you etc etc is that in reality no one on here knows who the targets are or how many we have

We can all guess but we don’t know, it really is nothing more than that

Where have I said he won't do anything? Wtf are you on about?

Is it a fact that he brought players in after chasing the same person over multiple windows? Or focused on one target?

You literally said "anyone thinking this needs a tin foil hat on".

This is beyond bizarre tbh.

It’s not hard, who he has brought in the past doesn’t mean that these are his only targets so if he will bring others in who he hasn’t looked at before then he doesn’t have a set list of targets

There is no fact that he has only focused on one target and simply writing lists of who he has brought in or been linked with does not prove that

So unless you are wilder or someone involved heavily in the transfer policy it’s not factual, it’s opinion

Suggesting it is factual and is happening regardless of what anyone else says, and if that’s a football equivalent to saying the govt do control the weather and nothing you say will change my mind, that’s up to you to decide

Is it bad that, unless we're getting both Souttar AND Anel, I'm not really sold on this?

Nope.

Although Souttar was phenomenal for us in his brief spell. That brief spell represents the 3rd most games he’s played in a season in his entire career and it ended on Boxing Day.

£3/4 million and done early - fucking yes
£10m+ on deadline day and it takes the shine off it somewhat and makes it a massive risk.

If we could sell Tanganga, re-unite Souttar and Anel and have Baptiste and McGuiness as back up then it would feel more like a step forward to me.

Tanganga played great at the weekend and spoke very well after the game, why would you want to sell him? I can see him being a big player for us if he’s got someone reliable next to him. The ideal for me is getting both Souttar and Anel to complement Tanganga and playing 3 CBs when all available, could always revert to the existing setup when one of them is out injured/playing in the Asian cup!

We also had Souza in front of him, which will have made a difference, stopping runners from midfield dribbling at him. We don’t have that kind of protection now. In fact, I’m not sure we have any kind of protection now, unless Phillips gets fit.

im a big souttar fan but we should tell leicester not a penny over 8m take it or leave it if they choose to leave it move on and get anel back

I really do not want to see us return to 3 CB’s.

It’s not a system that you tend to see much in modern football. By my reckoning 75-80% of teams utilise a version of 433 or 4231 these days. Its a system that has dominated the top level of football for sometime now.

The premier league winners, championship winners, World Cup winners, Champions league winners etc etc all used it.

Using 3 CB’s against these formation has some inherent flaws. Firstly they use one main striker. You’ve then sacrificed a midfielder or an attacker to sit at the back and mark one striker with his two pals. That concedes possession higher up the pitch and invites pressure on.

You have to commit your wingbacks forward - which leaves lots of space behind them, for wingers. Which both 433 and 4231 utilise. So 80% of the time you’re getting exposed down the sides or you have to leave your wingbacks sat deep and compromise on all of your creativity.

It generally doesn’t create as many chances due to having an extra defender over a midfielder or an attacker.

It’s a lot more complicated than just saying oh we have 3 defenders and we had some success 10 years ago let’s do it again. A lot of that success was down to having some very unique players in bash and JOC too.

Yes Tanganga did OK against Brum. He was excellent on the odd occasion last season too. He was also absolutely terrible on a few occasions and doesn’t appear to be a natural leader.

If we could sell him to get Souttar AND Anel I absolutely would, because I think it would leave us in a far stronger position afterwards.

I think the reason Wilder wants Souttar so much is that he's clearly a leader of men and I'm not so sure that Anel is or Tanganga neither. Defensively Anel is good but it's the leadership qualities that Souttar has that set him aside. He's also very commanding, probably the most I've ever seen in a defender at United.

i think your dismissing tanganga too quickly he was our motm against birmingham for me its wilders fault for making him captain it has definetly affected his game and i have to disagree with you on the 352 system i was glad when we ditched it but the squad weve got now would suit this system unless were planning to bring 3/4 new additions in to allow us to play 433 or 4231 doesnt matter what formation other clubs use its whats the best for us with the players at the managers disposal

Completely agree regards 3-5-2. Squad isn’t built for it. Sign some wingers and stick with 4-2-3-1.
