When your manager is really bone headed? Why would you have cash specifically assigned for one position but not another?

I'm fairly sure that won't be the decision of the managerWhen your manager is really bone headed?
Yeeeaah, not sure about thatI'm fairly sure that won't be the decision of the manager
So we are saying to Leicester that our bid isn’t genuineWe bid but don't expect it to happen
By showing he’s good at chucking his dummy? No thanks.Souttar is 'playing' for a move
Fortunately for our club, you are not the one that decides our transfersBy showing he’s good at chucking his dummy? No thanks.
Because it's easier to get a left winger on loan from a premier league club than a centre back as you can usually accept a winger with less experience. Not something you'd usually want at centre half and not often an experienced centre half will find themselves on the loan market. Totally agree and I’ve been really keen on seeing Souttar return. however, I’d forget about him now, go for Anel for £5mill and spend the other £5 mill on a left winger. Go get a new striker to replace Cannon on a loan. Hopefully between now and the end of the transfer window sell a couple of the fringe players to get a bit of money in to balance the books. Take £3mill for Cannon would also be acceptable as it would take him off the payroll.Move on from him. He’s not worth £10m to anyone, never mind us. Target another centre half for ~£5m and spend the rest on a left winger. Those are the two positions we’re crying out for and if we get good players in each position I’ll be much more optimistic.
Don’t need to replace cannon. We have three strikers. We need to commit to 4231, I’d rather get 2x wingers, or an understudy for O’Hare. Right now that would probably be Chong, which - no thanks.Totally agree and I’ve been really keen on seeing Souttar return. however, I’d forget about him now, go for Anel for £5mill and spend the other £5 mill on a left winger. Couldn’t agree more.Fortunately for our club, you are not the one that decides our transfers![]()
Just like everyone on here!Couldn’t agree more.
"one of our main defensive targets" is funny, makes it sound like we have no end of other people on our radar
I’m pretty certain we will have other targets but while ever we can still negotiate for our top target there is no point in rushing to a second choice."one of our main defensive targets" is funny, makes it sound like we have no end of other people on our radar
How do you know we haven't? Have you any evidence?"one of our main defensive targets" is funny, makes it sound like we have no end of other people on our radar
I think we just need to commit to something.Don’t need to replace cannon. We have three strikers. We need to commit to 4231, I’d rather get 2x wingers, or an understudy for O’Hare. Right now that would probably be Chong, which - no thanks.
It's about quaility of strikers if utd's finaces wert dire would they persist with campbell and co ,campbell had one purple patch the season before 11 goals fair return ,but last 1 and time at stoke nothing special ,one unproven yet he's young prob another loan full season do him good to get goals regular basis .Cannon enough said about him ,leaves bamford as only a natural scorer but if utd continue with that kind of service saturday he'il struggle to .I think we just need to commit to something.
3-5-2 or 3-4-2-1 and you need another centre back. You have two excellent left wing backs and and outstanding right wing back. Don’t know how good Doherty is up and down but he can also play RCB. The elusive Shackleton ought to be a decent wing back. You’ve plenty of CMs for the two and O’Hare, Donovan, Chong and presently Marsh for the 10 or 10s. We currently have 4 strikers. Leas to do with this formation.
If we commit to 4-2-3-1 then we still need a centre back and also we need a first choice left winger. You could argue we need one more, unless that’s Chong but it still only gives depth on one wing.
The first formation is a lot less hassle to recruit for to be quite honest. It’s the one we should be playing in my view.
I don’t mind One remaining. Young strikers tend to have to leave us in order to develop. And our fans are hardly patient with young players. There’s generally a clamour for them to be elevated to the first team if they stand out in the U21s followed very quickly by abuse if they then show the inconsistency and naivety of a very young player still learning their trade. I well remember not very bright people on here writing off Calvert-Lewin and Osula after a handful of games for us. I also see the current revisionism about Brooks and the absolute shite being spouted about Arblaster at the moment by some.As an aside how annoying is the Lankshear thing. Spurs take him just because they can. They hardly pick him then he ends up spearheading a rival. I know there was little we could do but I do wish these big clubs would do one when it comes to hoarding players. Imagine him playing for us now, he’d be perfect.
Great post Champs Agree 100% we have a history of abusing young players! It's just a minority that do this ! which does leave its mark on young players.Young strikers tend to have to leave us in order to develop. And our fans are hardly patient with young players.
