It wreaks of Leicester playing us, it wreaks of us trying to get it over the line for the least money, it wreaks of him definitely being our priority no. 1. Not sure it’s ineptitude more it’s not as easy as you think to do a deal when goal posts keep shifting.

We’ve repeated the mistakes of previous windows again fixating a specific targets sometimes we get them sometimes we don’t but because we narrow our focus so much if they don’t come off we find ourselves scrambling around late in the window.

It the fact we do it over and over again that makes it so frustrating

As one of the fannies that is probably aimed at, if you check my posting history you will see that I am generally a bit of a clapper.

But you have to admit that it is (at best) extremely disappointing that we go into the season with a weaker defence that we had last time, along with most of our creativity sold off, and not yet replaced. Admittedly Donovan has not yet had a chance to show what he can do.

They know they have an offer on table no matter what it doesn't harm them to keep him until they have to sell.

I'm guessing that the interest in Anel means the Souttar deal maybe not happening. I think Anel would be almost as good a signing as Souttar. Id favour Souttar because he's more id a leader and I've never seen a more commanding centre back for us.

So this is where United should be telling Leicester our offer is £x, its on the table until xx date. Thereafter, we have moved on.

Dont let Leicester sit there with a open offer available to them, as quite rightly then, they can take their time until deadline day safe in the knowledge United are their fall back option. Be pragmatic United, and force the issue one way or another next week.

Honestly, i want United to move onto other targets now. Fuck Leicester and leave them to sort out their own financial issues. Dont be played as mugs United (not saying they are but ffs make a final offer, set a deadline date, and then its done one way ot another next week). There are other decent centre halves abailable. Probably with less severe recent imjuries.
