Thank you, Gus. For everything, sincerely. What a magic player to watch - my only sadness is that we didn't use you centrally more often and that we didnt use our resources better to put a better supporting cast around you. That's on recruitment. Who knows what could've been, if we had been better able to utilise and enjoy you playing with O'Hare, surrounding by a better supporting cast.

Great character, great competitor, very talented lad, enjoyed a scrap and a bit of needle, great with the fans and loved his time here.

For now, happy memories of a talented footballer. Once a Blade, always a Blade.

Thanks for everything Gus, it's always a pleasure to watch someone of genuine quality. They don't come around often and I've no idea when we'll see the next one.

We've actually been blessed over the last few years by some players that were wonderful to watch. MGW, Ndiaye, Berge (when he was up for it) and Hamer. I feel like Brooks could even have joined the list, but of course Wilder has better ideas. I imagine Hamer will get a better reception than all of them when he returns to Bramall Lane.

Just don't score an absolute worldie of a free kick against us next season when Cov are back in th championship..

Reminded me a little bit of Glynn Hodges. Incredible skill and some fantastic moments but did some really stupid things and never got the best out of his talent.

He should 100% have been playing for clubs better than us and Coventry but he lacked that extra you need to be a top flight player these days. Will get a clap from me next season though without a shadow of a doubt.

Currie was extraordinary. Iliman was extraordinary.

Gus was a very good / excellent Championship player on his day. But thats it really (imo).

Very likable lad, lovely little second tier player (when he fancied it) but inconsistent and would too often (for a man of his undoubted talent), see the game pass him by. Let us not forget he was very much part of the team that was near the bottom of the table until October time. He also struggled to do more than 70 mins and loved a daft yellow with game bans. Honestly? Im not that bothered about him going, and I was a lot more pissed off when Brooks was flogged to Norwich.

However, good luck to him (even more so after hes left those childish reprobates in the future). I wish Gustavo all the best.

Decent player, but a lot more limited in overall contribution compared many players I've seen play for us. The moments are the memorable bit rather than his performances or overall contribution to the side.He has a great highlight reel mind you. I'm a bit surprised to see him getting his own thread tbqh. Delivered a brilliant assist v snort beasts at the lane to Campbell so fair play to him. I’ll be intrigued to see him in the premier league, my prediction though is that he’ll not be at Coventry after January, as I feel physically he won’t be up to it. It’s definitely not on the Ndiaye level.

Cheers Gus, a definite ‘bums off seats’ kind of player, always trying things that others wouldn’t even think of, let alone attempt.

That said, was a walking booking and usually for stupid petulance rather than bad tackles so ended up either missing games through suspension or tightrope walking so he didn’t get suspended.

Also if we’re being honest, was not fit enough.

Still, thanks for the memories, it’s a solid good luck to the lad from me, and a bad luck to the Cov.

Cheers Gus, to be fair to him he came in very difficult circumstances.
Very dark times when we sold Ndiaye followed by Berge the following weeks.
He had some HUGE boots to fill
Will not forget his debut goal vs Forest, what a goal!
Overall, some cracking goals over the season.
I can't help but think he had more in him but just never reached that full potential with us
I remember reading a view from Cov fans saying Gus will single handedly pull the team together and get results. He never consistently achieved that with us
Will never be an Ndiaye (Now that's one player I miss!!)

Not sure mate, don't use the socials any more. I can see on his Insta that's there's a couple of posts in a Cov shirt but can't access the posts without logging in. I'm assuming that they are the Club posting and tagging him, rather than posts by Gus himself?

I enjoyed watching him play and on his day he was a difference maker. Was never really good enough to play in the Prem, but you can't really argue with his Championship performances. Will be difficult to replace his invention and creativity in this division.

Its a huge shame that we couldnt get a decent LW so he could play through the middle. That being said, where would O'Hare played. This is where it's so difficult being a manager that 2 of your better players in the squad play in the same position.
CW must have had the opinion that GH was better out on the wing than C'OH. As i believe GH would have been terrific through the middle! But that's why I'm not a manager haha!

Partly just to soften the pain. Like saying your ex was ugly when in reality you did find her attractive, otherwise you wouldn't have gone out with her.

I do think with Gus, he peaked 2 seasons ago, last season wasnt as good so you get more negative comments.

I think if Cov try to play him CM in a pair or CDM, they will get absolutely mullered (or even moreso) and will change their minds quickly.

Last season in the big games I kept waiting for him to try and grab the game by the scruff of the neck and found for me he went missing. Likes been said he had the odd bit of brilliance but think it’s a great deal for us at the right time.
