Souttar might be the least Russell Martin player ever. Fantastic defender but he should not be pissing around with the ball in his own box.

Martin’s doing a great job of extracting extra money out of us for a player who doesn’t even fit his style.

If that's what Leicester are hoping , there's no point us bidding at this stage.
Once Wrexham have their man , we're in a better position to bid.
Go and get the other CB we need NOW , and as posted above , take our desperation out of the negotiation.

I'm not looking for an argument mate, but how could you or Leicester know that we don't have a plan B ?
I'm sure that worse managers than ours have plans A, B, C and D.

Put the original offer back on the table, withdraw any increased offers, and go and sign another centre half. Let Leicester stew for a bit. They still desperately need money ( i was reading about their finances the other day and they have already spent the money they borrowed in advance of their last parachute payment), so give them a take it or leave it offer, and take the desperation out of it by switching targets. Whilst a good player, Harry Souttar is not the only centre half that we can try to sign.

I know - football world's gone mad.
Bournemouth & Brentford from lower leagues , soon to be joined by Wrexham in the top flight.
Big crowds & catchment areas , tradition & history worth very little (apart from the global clubs).
Drift from post-industrial North , to wealthy South-East is irrevocable in English football now dominated by international players , their agents & cold hard cash.
In the first half of my 60 years following dem Blades , all we talked about was the football & the players (who you could name at any club coz they barely ever moved).
In the second half , it's drifted into noise about club owners , finances , players contracts & wages.

Might I offer that any premium paid for Souttar over the odds, might be offset by improving Tanganga? He had Cooper next to him at Millwall and looked immense, I think the bleed over effect could be to our advantage here.
