Can see it, don't hate it.

Baptist / McGuiness as CB cover, Burrows/RND as McCallum cover, Doherty covering Seriki, Peck (may be off), Blaster, Jairo as competition/cover for Philips and Rothwell, need a LW/LM to replace Òne, Campbell and Cannon cover for Bamford and Donovan cover for Chong.

Said a few times that’s not awful for the level but it’s relying on everyone in the team doing 40+ games.

We need some more depth, especially at the top and bottom of the pitch. The quotes £5-8m for Souttar could get us 2 or 3 decent back ups.

I really don't like to moan but is this really the best use of our limited resources? Someone who has rarely played in the last 4 years and hardly set Bramall Lane alight last season, again without a pre season, in an area where we are well stocked with similar profiles.

Don't even get me started on the reported £8m on Souttar, who as good as he may be, has never played a full season of football at 26/27 years old.

You can almost guarantee if they both come in we will be without them for longer than they are in the first XI.

Honestly, may aswell go with what we've got and the money towards the infrastructure at Dore. Wilder would if he was selflessly thinking about the club rather than his immediate future.

I think it’s a great signing tbh. No fee, and his contract is up soon so if goes well I can see it being a tap in free signing. Well worth a punt seen as he’s only recently been bought for £50m and it’s clear that his form was destroyed by being dismantled by the manager and having his competition be Rodri. People are concerned about the overwhelming evidence that he won’t play like he did at Leeds. He had one good season but the last 4 have been absolute shockers.

Some of us base our opinions on recent evidence, rather than some mythical vibe from 2019.

If we got Souttar and Phillips, kept Peck and added a quality winger then we would be in with a shout if top 6 imo.

Sad thing is, I think Peck is already on his way - well it seems that way to me.

I guess the issue people have is... he already was given a chance.

And every worst case scenario played out in a short space of time.

Not saying he won't turn out alright, but the last 5 years (inc. 6 months with us) would indicate otherwise, so I can understand some of the negativity.
