Successive times we’ve found the poorest “millionaire” owners in football. We were shit last season & have sold one of our better players. Were bang in trouble.

Yes he has made money on some transfers and yes he has in the past managed us v well, but he has little money to spend as he has recently wasted it

I think the signings last summer late in the window totalling upwards of £15m is the main reason we're skint. Matos, McGuiness, Zatterstrom, Chong, Tanganga. Also Ben Mee and Danny Ings on decent wages. Ben Godfrey no doubt an expensive loan.

The January window was much more meagre with Rothwell the only permanent, I doubt the loans were that big a deal, and it was reported how much of a favour City did us with Phillips.

Fact is any other manager this season with how the club currently stands... frees and loans, then we are in a relegation battle.

Wilder does his best when its frees, loans and gems. Its an issue when he has money to spend, especially on strikers.

With funds if wilder left, there is zero managers that we can afford that would be able to pull the team together... there is no Blades manager out there either who loves the club lole wolder does.

All those suggesting that we should just find that extra million or two (after we have previously agreed the price) need to get real. Imagine going for a house. Youve agreed £500k. Its all looking rosy, then late in the day the vendors state that they now want £575k.... you'd tell thrm to piss off (well most would do). Where United go wrong is not saying 'out final bid is x. Its on the table til midnight on x date'. After that, the offer is withdrawn'. Then its up to Leicester to shit or get off the pot. Either way, it needs resolving quickly. Get it done quickly or move on. Im leaning more towards the lattet now as it seems Leicester are playing silly buggers.

People are making a bit too much of this, in my opinion. Wilder is not a coach, let alone an academy coach. His strength is management, certainly not coaching. It doesn’t mean the young players aren’t being coached, they clearly are, very successfully.

I don't think Wilder mk.2/3 is good at improving players.
Whereas, I always felt Heckingbottom did get a lot out of individuals.

Wilder seems to need the tools already in place. I appreciate a lot of youngsters did come through under him, but I thought it was more through necessity than will.

I know what you’re saying, but Hecky’s pathway was first and foremost as a coach whereas Wilder’s wasn’t. He’s never had a role as a coach, this is why Knill was so important during the mk1 years. Wilder is very reliant on his coaches, but this is true of many managers. So the real question is whether the management and motivational skills are still as they were ten years ago.

I remember hearing that in 1995 our players started laughing at Dave Bassett's instructions and shouting at training sessions also during the half time talk because he didnt have the respect he had.

Wonder if it is the same with Wilder?
