Seems a bit hard to manage, as they are allowed to be on the pitch, so you'd have to have some kind of exclusion zone 10 yards from the edge.
Not so simples.

Another interesting one, I think it was Shearer suggested in the WC. For corner kick pushing and holding farce.
That the ball is 'in play' soon as it is placed at the corner quad. So any shenanigans is given as a foul straight away. End to the referee telling them off beforehand.

Any player going to the side of the pitch other than for a substitution should be yellow carded. Simples….. will end impromptu fake injuries that stop momentum. 4th official given power to issue those yellow cards.

Very non traditional view, but I'd have stop clock set at 60 minutes. I think a typical 90 minutes has 55 in play, on average, So timing shouldn't change much.

People will still want to disrupt play to suit, but killing time becomes pointless. Would stop that bloke halfway up the top waving his arms about as well

Really should just enforce timewasting and dissent. It'd only need about 2 games finishing 7v7 before people got the message. They did it with the ball kicking away being a yellow, but like everything else just stopped enforcing the rules again. The one that winds me up no end is that subs are apparently just allowed to warm up on the pitch when the game is in play now.

It's already a cautionable offence if they leave the field (yellow card) under Law 12, it is worded as, entering, re-entering or deliberately leaving the field of play without the referee’s permission. The medic/water carrier brings water with him when treatment is occurring and then you see other players getting the drink from the medics bag, as if you leave the field of play without the referee’s permission to get a drink, that's 1 caution and then if you re-enter after having a drink without the referee’s permission, that's the 2nd caution and, 2 yellows = a red. I have seen it happen at more of a local level, possibly mainly because the referee was being assessed at the time, obviously didn't go down well with the player concerned but in the Laws of the game the referee was correct.

The new 10 seconds sub count, goal keeper (revamped count) and thrown in time count should be interesting to see if these speed the game up at a professional level.

I had an idea about throw ins - having markers on the touch line every 5 meters, so the Lino marks which segment it went out and then throw has to be taken within that section, stopping the stealing of yards that goes on. If they step out of it, foul throw.

I could fix this game entirely if they game me a couple of days.

I'd add on an option to replace a throw in with the option to pass the ball into play - with one restriction:

- if the first touch after the kick-in is in the oppositions penalty area, the throw in is awarded the other direction - this prevents throw in's becoming a quasi-corner kick

This was trialled in the 1980s or 1990s, was a disaster, and was dropped.

It was, now introduced in youth football below U11s but usually up to U9s, to speed up play they have the "dribble in" ball stationary and literally run it into play.

It won't be long with the AI ball and other tech where there will be a light pointer as where the whole ball crossed the line and this is then shown on the pitch, the way the game is going, assistant referees at the top level will be made redundant with semi-automatous offsides, in and out tech. It will literally be the referee and a VAR guy.
