What's going on with Campbell?

Results are irrelevant, it's about preparing for the season physically and tactically. Our results during the season suggest it was shite.
I understand that. Personally I think results of friendlies are irrelevant and struggle to understand why folk get uptight about them or overly optimistic for that matter.

Largely depend on your progress in terms of pre-season programme compared to the other team.

I suppose managers take the positives where they can. Last thing they want is to invite pressure on their job.

You take a 6-0 shellacking against Stoke and that’s somehow a good physical exercise to build up fitness.

On another day you’d be saying it was a one sided demolition which did very little to build morale but that narrative doesn’t suit. Then again when you’ve got local journalists giving out 6s and 7s when you’re on the end of a thrashing then you know you’re being let off lightly.

On our side, it’s good to get results but when you’re playing Halifax, Rotherham and Chesterfield then going undefeated can’t garner too much of a positive. It probably is the minutes in the body more than anything.

All fair points, I just wish we played some other teams. Even if it was just Bradford, Huddersfield, etc. A tiny bit of variety.

I seem to recall Stoke fans saying exactly this. Cooper is a great finisher, but he just isn't fit enough. Maybe he's as fit as he can get, if you know what I mean.

Would need to be fit to get from the goal at one end and score at the other;)
