We may well be John but money talks and as he's under contract he'll go to the team that offers the highest transfer fee and wages that he's happy to accept.

If he's definitely handed a transfer request in I'd like to think that reduces his cost, but you'll obviously sell to the highest bidder, and it would be tough to outbid either of those.

Either way, if he is is fit, Australia have the Asia cup qualifiers in January, it is one to think about from all sides although due to the FA Cup providing there aren’t any other postponed games that need catching up he would miss rounds 3 and 4 weekends plus the league match the following weekend with 2 of them being in Australia (not sure where the 2nd match will be played as is against Iraq and not sure if they host matches currently) depending when the squad meet up he could potentially miss the New Year’s Day fixture for travelling. If he is at Leicester City and they don’t make it to round 3 of the FA Cup he could potentially miss 4 or 5 fixtures as there is a mid week game scheduled too. Although a lot on here see him as the answer and don’t get me wrong I think he is a decent player availability is needed personally £6-10million however much is quoted cannot be justified for an at risk player. There should be others we are looking at and new ownership however that looks won’t hold out too long as they will be at risk of a high wage bill.

Hes more than likely going to go where the money is best and where he thinks he will play. West Ham and Wrexham will both pay him more than we will and they will both have more money in their transfer kitty. The only way he comes to us is if he really wants to, will accept lower wages and tries to force Leicester to accept a lower fee.

Yep. There are far too many "what the hell has happened to our club when we can't compete with the likes of Wrexham / Burnley / Norwich etc.

Nothing has happened to us. We simply aren't getting parachute payments and we don't have billionaire investors, unlike some other clubs.

It’s not the Asian cup qualifiers, it’s the Asian cup. Runs for a month from early January in Saudi Arabia. Souttar will be out from at least a fortnight before it starts until Australia get knocked out (and they are very likely to make the knockout stage).

you may be right and i know its a gamble with souttars injury record i just feel a commanding physical centre back has to be our number 1 priority if its not souttar we have to bring at least 1 centre back in we cant start the season with mcguinness on the pitch from kick off

We've saved a hell of a lot in wages with who we've let go and sent back this summer.
Even not getting Walker/Phillips and bring back Jairo on reduced terms will help.
