I think now still isn't the time to judge.

And I think this is largely Bettis. Because it's happened under many managers but this "better value later in the window" seems to echo with us every single season.
So expect more activity as we get closer to the end of August. Remember the Hecky promotion season too. We barely signed anyone and I think at this stage had very little ins.

I also reckon we need to sell at least one more (Depending on fee) to help this. (Not new info/opinion there).

Squad as it stands has obv. less depth but isn't that different to what we had last season. Brooks for Donovan being the main switch.
As it stands right now presuming we are playing same/similar formation you'd expect a starting line up of:

Cooper,
Seriki, Tanganga, McGuinness, McCallum
Chong/Donovan, Peck, Reidewald, Hamer,
Bamford, Campbell/Cannon or O'hare behind striker.

Chance that Baptiste will impress enough to force his way into CB start.

I'm not saying it's fantastic but the above isn't that bad. It's all going to depend on how we set up to play and what the state of the squad is come September 1st.

It was great. Unusual places to visit, huge camaraderie and we actually played some very good football unlike the recent stale offering
Hated it being in the 4th tier. Cant understand why many say being in the lowest league position ever was a great season!

Our best seasons were finishing in the top half of the top tier or promotions from the 2nd tier.

I know what Shawy was saying, I was there and we did play some good football and the atmosphere was mainly brilliant. In a word we were 'ENTERTAINED'.

Even that season by then we'd signed Anel for a fee, but we had all the players we needed to fill the positions.
We just supplemented a quality squad with some quality loans, whereas the last few seasons, We've replaced players with loans..

I was playing football on Saturday afternoons in the Friendlies league which was more interesting than watching us playing against the likes of Hereford, Halifax, Aldershot etc. Very different from watching us beating Arsenal, Manchester United, Chelsea, Spurs etc not too long before that.

I think it was mainly the occasion, yes winning the 4th Division is certainly nothing too shout about.
But going to every away game bar one it was something to experience, the full football specials to every game expect Hereford i believe.
Being marched by the police from the train station to the ground walking past the houses with people peering through their curtains.
The Double Decker buses from the train station at Torquay I think.
The wall collapsing at Halifax, the grass bank at Wigan.
£7 each return on the Football Special to Torquay and Bournemouth.
And then Darlington, Blades on all 4 sides and sat around the pitch something that will never be allowed to ever happen again.

Starting to not worry, but lack of progress or plan seems to be in play and is concerning. Signed two players, one who’s 46 and another who’s loaned in, sold one of our least one dimensional players, other clubs spending, players getting driving bans, everyone were linked with just screams filler or mediocrity. Nothing to get excited about.

This might sound very snobbish and I didn't intend it to, but for a club like utd in the 4th tier was nothing short of embarrassing! But maybe its me, being brought up on Birchenall ( Sherman ☺️) Joe Shaw, Hodgy, and my all time favourite the mighty Mick Jones, Woody, Currie. Ect ive been spoilt 😂

I'm starting to sense an unwanted non-consensual little trickle

Agree entirely, great memories of that campaign . I dont care if it was 4th tier , anyone who lived it and travelled it still talk about it with a smile and loved it start to finish.

After years of slowly going downhill we turned a corner and dominated the league and pretty much every ground .

Great times

If the Nos and Harry Clarke stories are true, my bed will look like the street Carlo Rizzie was slumped on after Sonny Corleone smashed him up.

Beat you by one then 😉. Which one did you miss?

Loved that season for reasons you described! Might have also been my age at the time too.

Travelling to all those new grounds, either side of third div grounds, enabled plenty of us to see us at numerous places never seen again.

Hereford it was the only one they didn't run a football special too, I think it was a night match and I vaguely remember them saying the train station was to far away from the ground.
Yes agree on the age I was 15 so wasn't fazed by much at that age, setting off to Torquay at 7am was seen as an adventure.
Wasn't Aldershot's ground in the middle of a park ?

Yep drew 1-1. Night game. Was on terrace but they let us out at half time for some reason.. maybe smokers ?? Sneaked into top of stand second half to escape snow 😩

Bed is wet
Sanctions WILL happen
Anyone can see what theyve done is blatant
I suspect 6-12 points off
Only saving grace leicester cheated for years and only got 6. If we get 6 weve a hope of survival

The Mrs has made several trips to the supermarket for new sheets. This summer has been an expensive one in my household
