I think Tuchel actually cocked up again himself by trying to prove a point.

I think he sent us out there with that line up and attacking, with no defensive changes as a "ill show your why I did what I did in semis, watch how we get beat" and it back fired on him and we actually played well and scored the goals and dug deep.

It highlights how wrong he got it.

Each time that man (Trump) opens his mouth I feel like vomitting - mind you the other one is just as bad. They're made for each other.
Allowing Balogun to play was just cheating and just about anyone other than Trump and Infantino knew it

That was the cherry on top as to why I won’t tune in to any FIFA football now, I am not watching tonight, disappointed to have wasted my time watching numerous games some which have been enjoyable and entertaining. Until clear and obvious decisions haven’t been picked up

This one for me is the number 1 reason why https://cdn.thuvienphapluat.vn/phap-luat/2022-2/TTKP/FWC26-regulations.pdf

Every competition from youth football, grassroots right up to the the FIFA World Cup have competition rules. These dictate how groups winners are decided and how the tournament progresses etc within the document I have screenshotted it for reference is point 36.5 which states that players are entitled to a 15 minute interval at half time (nothing new as within the Laws of the Game under Law 6 and the document states it will be applying IFAB Laws of the game at the time ) at a grassroots level that might be 10 mins but extendable with permission of the referee.

The other part of that statement says … a short drinks break which should not exceed one minute. By having 3 minute drinks breaks, FIFA are breaking their own competition rules of what they have set out and how the matches should be played which ultimately means every single match at the World Cup so far has broken their own competition rules.

Until it happens I can’t comment on it but if the halftime internal exceeds 15 minutes tonight they would break both FIFA World Cup competitions rules and IFAB (The International Football Association Board) Laws. They (IFAB) have to approve at their AGM any adjustments to the Laws of the game, to gain approval of a Law change it needs 75% of members to vote in favour (FIFA have a 50% vote) the last AGM and all others are published online, the below was the last one (https://theifab.com/news/the-ifab-i...s-to-improve-match-flow-and-player-behaviour/)

There is no mention of an approved increase of the half time break or extended hydration breaks and as FIFA World Cup competition rules state they will be applying the IFAB Laws of the time, if they decide to have an increase in the break from 15 minutes the Laws of the game have been broken,
within the professional game several teams including VIlla and Man City have been fined for delaying the 2nd half restart due to being late . Especially within UEFA competitions

Racist prick
Oooh, you're hard aren't you? A couple of people have told me that you've got form for this on here, and elsewhere, abusing posters from the safety of your keyboard. In fact haven't you been banned more than once for exactly the same thing? I've left it for the moderators to deal with.

Being racist from the safety of your keyboard is the textbook example of a keyboard warrior, so pot kettle black mate.

Anyway, good to see players you hate for the colour of their skin have a great game.

And once again, there you go making things up to suit your own narrative. Just for the record, nothing I said was racist. It was merely an observation. So go on Einstein, explain to me what was racist about my comment. If I look out of the window and it's pissing it down, and I come on here and say it's raining, that's not being precipitationist, is it?

And what was it pray tell, that led you to believe that it was an AFCON game?

You know exactly what. There were a lot of black players on the pitch playing for both sides. Yes, it was a bit of a droll comment but absolutely not racist in any context. You've twisted it in your own head to accuse me of hatred, which is ridiculous and absolute bollocks. If you think it's racist, report me to the authorities then, see how far you get. Like I said, I've left the original abuse for the moderators to deal with and that's my final reply to you.

When playing for 3rd place?
Absolutely. It's interesting how psychology impacts. France took a little longer to realise the game meant nothing, but it looks like someone noticed at halftime, and they came out free as a bird. Whilst I'd love to translate that to the pressure of second-tier matches (and others, of course), I'm not sure managers have the tools to do this at any club. Thoroughly enjoyable match though.

Before the World Cup I had little intention to watch it because of Trump and the anticipated general razzamataz. However I was sucked in and watched the vast majority of it.
Having looked at the competition rules:

10.3 Single yellow cards in the final competition will be cancelled after the quarter‑finals.
10.4 If a player or team official receives two cautions during two different matches, they will automatically be suspended from their team’s subsequent match.
10.5 If a player or team official is sent off as a result of a direct or indirect red card(second caution), they will automatically be suspended from their team’s subsequent match. In addition, further sanctions may be imposed.
10.6 Any suspension that cannot be served during the FIFA World Cup 26 will be carried over to the representative team’s next official match in accordance with the relevant provisions of the FIFA Disciplinary Code.

It's obvious they ignored their own rules in the case of Balogun.

Having a 30 minute half-time is ridiculous - it turns it into two separate games.

The hydration breaks were a nonsense - games being played in both hot humid conditions or air conditioned arenas. As others have said it has just been an excuse for extra commercial breaks.

I have to admit I quite enjoyed the 3rd place play off (partly because I wasn't too bothered about the result) but much of the rest of the competition left a pretty sour taste in my mouth - even more so if I'd spent a fortune traipsing around North America

Want a spade for that hole you're digging?

F.I.F.A. have "put their foot down" and said the Half Time break will be 17 minutes "maximum" , I suppose we will find out later how hard they put their foot down

A nothing to lose match, play with the shackles off and i think it's like when teams play more relaxed when they've achieved promotion or been relegated with a few games to go.

England played some of the squad players which Tuchel should also have played in the tournament group stages as well.

A completely meaningless match when you've lost the semi and both played poorly in the semi (at least partially in Englands case).

Not really sure much can be read into it, but it sounded a decent, entertaining game

The pitch was full of English and French players. English & French as a nationality doesn’t = white.

It’s a moot point and completely understandable that some would see it as steeped in racist context.

Sorry but definitely racist. I hope the moderators are paying attention. Droll? Don't kid yourself.

This is how they do it, side -parting, keeping it on the down low like Griffin.

On a happier note a game I really wasn't bothered about turned into a wonderful spectacle. France when they woke up could and perhaps should have won 10-6 but England deserved the win for their first half and last 10 minutes.

The more I’ve seen of highlight of Argentina matches the more I hate them as a team totally lacking sportsmanship and been favoured by the authorities.

I presume many millions of others feel the same.

They may have beaten us but they’ll never take Port Stanley and our Sandwich
After the abuse I got from the Argie lass here on Weds, she had the cheek to ask who i'd be supporting in the final. Her boyfriend is Spanish and I said i'd be backing Spain to support him as he didn't singing about jumping if you hate the English.

Today I've been out and bought our lass an Espana T-shirt and managed to get the Red Spain shirt on a little discount for myself. I love these levels of pettiness :D
