Surely This Has Got To Spark Change...

Scougall was abysmal in the games I saw pre season and Butler whilst average was by no means the worst player.

It seems there has been a falling out. To sign Walsall's player of the year for 2 seasons and earmark him as Maguire's replacement which seemed to be case and then literally play a young kid/a player out of position and sign another journeyman who was without a club suggests the writing is already on the wall for Butler.
 



Baffling team selections and poor subs again today. what's going on.
Higdon playing upfront alone is a waste of time get mcnulty up there with him.we have no bite in midfield and Alcock being played out of position to accommodate Davies,JCR has to play with his direct pace and Baxter for his creativity.need a result Tuesday or we are 9 points behind a rival albeit early days

Starting to get worried now. Not about losing the first two games, or the amount of money spent or not spent, but by this weird situation with Clough and some of the players. I can't believe that Butler was so awful in preseason that he doesn't even make the bench. Then there's the other mysteries, like Alcock being played at CB, or Higdon going from not being fit enough yet to starting every game and even captaining the side. Seems there's something very wrong going on behind the scenes.
 
In regards to Flynn and his poor performance, ill blame that on him playing on the back line, yet he played a compitent role on the wing last season..

Top and bottom weve made far too many signings this season.. We should have put Kennedy in for Maguire, Collins should be starting EVERY game.. Our team captain, however hot headed he is, should still be doyle.. Murphy and Flynn on wings and bought a new left and right back then gone stupid in transfer market for some strikers..

We had the winning formula last season, but with all the changes we need to find that again.. If things carry on the same I predict the 2015/16 season will be yet another in League One..
 
Strangest of all was the decision to bring on a left back for a right winger when the poor bugger has had no pre season and has only been at the club less than a day.

The right winger was playing as more or less a left wing back at the time though.

I'd have put Flynn back on the right and brought McNulty on for Murphy.

Or JCR as a straight swap, not like a guy at the club for a few hours was the only option was it ?

The point is,you wouldn't have done what Clough did,and neither would 99% of blades for that matter.

Someone said earlier that Clough knows his players miles better than us,well he needs to start showing it then.

Ifit weren`t for his goal we wouldn`t have beaten Mansfield Town.

I see that without Butler and McNulty Mansfield Town would not have been overcome.

Exactly the point,they get a game who have played just as bad in pre season,yet he can't even get in the squad.
 
I was very critical of both Collins and Doyle last season but during the run in they were integral in our good form and strong defensive unit. I don't think that they are the answer long term but unless we have anyone better then they should surely start?

Collins in along side Mcgahey,move Alcock to RB and Davies to RM and that will go somewhere to fixing some of the shite were having to put up with allready this season.Flynny is not fit.I'm no expert but they just seem simple errors what our Nige is doing atm and its the simple things that worry me,as he got these things spot on last season.
 
Ben Davies is another that winds me up.. Spends far too long on the ball.. Campbell Ryce was making run after run against Mansfield yet Davies would look up and see him and still try to get the cross in the box to no avail WHAT SO EVER!! He has the ball in acres of space but by the time he's lifted his head, looked at the ball, lifted his head again, looked at the ball, stepped forward, lifted his head, looked at the ball, lifted his head, he's been closed down and under pressure! DUMB
 
I am just hoping for James Wallace to get his fitness and hopefully make a positive impact in a static midfield.
 
He seems quite happy to name names that he isn't happy with never sure if that is a good thing, got a telling off once for it.
 
Listened to the interview, murphy can't get past anyone, scougall not his usuall self, if that's the case,we haven't spent game changing money on Stella signings, preferring to go for strength in depth, with out of contract and free signings. Use them then?.
