Outgoing? Peck

Surely being a target usurps considering the possibility of potentially tracking progress

West Spam are being linked to almost everyone so for. If, and its a big if, that they are serious about Peck, I would have expected a bid already.

I’d be surprised if west ham make a move before they’ve sold more players. Selling Fernandes doesn’t get them out of the red yet.

I wonder if it's just agent talk at this point. These leaks don't seem to be very solid ones at the moment and I am sure they are aware we will want a high fee for Peck.

The problem is United have put themselves in a really weak negotiating position. News of the owners not paying the agreed price to the previous owner, gives the impression they don’t have a pot to piss in and are likely to sell players at a discounted price. So if we do sell Peck, it won’t be for the money we should be asking for.

That News doesn't put us in a weak negotiating position
Actually having no money and the accounts looking poor for FFP would do, but even then we can still drive for a decent deal.
Having less than a year on a players contract puts any club in a weak negotiating position

TBF, if they know there are bids in for their players and they're likely to leave, they can go ahead and make bids/purchases first. Look at Villa dropping 50m on the Swiss lad before Rogers has gone.

It might give the impression that they don’t have a pot to piss in, but that isn’t necessarily the reality. It’s quite possible that negotiations are taking place around the price and what’s owed, and both sides are seeking to strengthen their position through various actions they are taking, some in the public domain and others not.

Good player and very likeable guy, but a much easier type of player to replace at a lower fee than the likes of Hamer.
That would mean we would sign a player permanently... We'll replace with a loanee..
Fortunately we have Arblaster and Shackleton, both will be spun as new signings...

I’m still curious how we “play Gus more centrally” and still keep Peck.

It would seem strange for Plan A to involve stopping your player of the year in O’Hare.

Peck moves for maximum cash. We slot Gus in alongside Jairo. O’Hare plays no 10. Gus occasionally moves further forward when Arblaster comes in and if O’Hare needs rotating.

Still leaves Rothwell giving experience from the bench.

West Ham making tonnes of cash via sales. They need to. But, nevertheless, £25 million or no deal.

I still think this is more of a “look at us” peck, in the knowledge he’s only got a year left after this season. It’s a long game.
