Player Suggestion Romelle Donovan

What's wrong with signing a couple of players on loan to give us a chance to have a season without the threat of relegation, bring back some excitement to the fans and spend time assessing players over time for full signings in season 27-28?

Like I’ve said, nothing is wrong with a loan. It’s just disappointing we have sold brooks, our best winger and we will replace him with a loan.

Loans have their place, I just feel like we rely on them far too much.

Donovan is unproven. I would rather a loan be used for someone who will clearly strengthen us. For example Dobbin or Jack Clarke.

I was fuming with the Brooks sale. But then I also think that there's an element of chance to any signing.

So there is a not unreasonable chance that Donovan may he as effective as Brooks while also meaning our finances are more stable for the season ahead.

It's certainly not a signing that indicates a worrying season ahead.

Like those unproven Championship players such as Mcatee and MGW
To be fair MGW did have chamionship experience with wolves & swansea before we signed him, he also had plenty of premier league experience lol.

Get your point though regarding Mcatee.

I'm not seeing any real difference in the hype level here to any other similar recent youth loan

They're all supposed to be fantastic aren't they
Well, it wasn't really Villa fans saying Barry was any good, it was Stockports.
Palace fans weren't that excited by Rak-Sakyi either.
Did any Man City fans actually know who McAtee was?

A makeweight for peck
Have we ever been involved in a makeweight deal? They seem like a simple idea, but I imagine the details are anything but. Given how long it takes us to sort signings, imaging adding another complicator.

Selling Kyle Walker to for Spurs to loan him back for about 3 days

Had the same thought although I think its more PR based than financial

Announce a loan in before a sale out.

Then again who if people haven't grasped the fact that we need to sell players this summer they must be living on Mars.

Peck has always been the most likely candidate to cash in on , followed by Gus , Brookes / Sereki . Its just the reality we have to accept .
Nothing to do with the PA /COH nonsense , its always been the case when parachute revenue ended .

They'll still be a meltdown from some everytime we sell and replace with cheaper purchases and loans.

Its shit though isn't it.
Sell one of our own, and our replacement is a loan for a season. Be in the same position next year.
We are the bitch to the big dogs like Brentford , Bournemouth & Brighton.
How times have changed.

the money we got for brooks was to be used for another permanent signing imo my thoughts were souttar but looking like weve got competition for him and the price has gone up
