Our midfield pair next season is going to be Arblaster and Phillips with Rothwell regularly rotating, probably through injury.

I’d say Peck probably has to go and play alongside better players if he is to kick on. Any deal north of 10m would make sense.

Clubs don’t keep players for 5 years anymore unless they are at the top table.

We all have to reconcile that this is how it is. Dreaming of a team of home grown players is just that; a dream. The only way to keep them longer is to progress upwards.

Everyone look to have agreed a £25m fee for Hayden Hackney who only has 12 months left on his contract with Boro.

That the bar set with the Championship Player of the Season, what fee are we looking at for Sydie? He’s not going into his last year and is 3 years younger and in theory 3 years more progression in him than Hackney.

Think the lowest id entertain is £15m.

We sell a player, and it seems whoever we are in for, then price goes up.

Lots of players head to private training camps in Europe or Dubai before pre season starts with their club. Lundstrum and Baldock did it regularly.
