I wasn't going to watch any of it. So, obviously, I very much have. Heavily time invested, three magazines, daily news reports and a wall chart out of the 'When Saturday comes' WC issue.

France 2 - 0 Senegal is my shout tonight.

England v Croatia score draw.

I'm not against a drinks break per se. Considering how we've seen incidents like Christian Eriksen at the Euros a few years back, taking precautions for player safety is A-OK with me. But as I've seen posted in here already, it becoming an opportunity to give out more instructions by coaches feels a bit snidy.

I'd rather the players be made to take drinks in a neutral location - behind a goal perhaps, or the opposite side of the pitch from the dugouts.

Haven't managed to catch a full match so far, but I've found a lot of what I have watched to be perfectly fine. Nothing has really stood out as being spectacular, but nothing has been awful either.

Gonna watch at least some of the France-Senegal game here shortly and see how that shakes out.

They should take it at a little plastic table with children size plastic chairs so we get to see them in their true habitat. The little dears.

Americanising an English game … splitting
The game in to 1/4 with an advertising break in each quarter … pretending it’s player welfare

Been a great WC so far….surprisingly entertaining matches….its as though teams know 1 win, almost sends you through…so may as well go for the win.
Makes me wonder if some of the later matches in early groups become dead rubbers….so the effort and entertainment reduces…we’ll see.

Best teams seen so far
France….and then probably England….then Morocco.

Just watched the England 4 Croatia 2 match.

1st half we were OK but showed worrying signs of Southgate’s England.
However 2nd half we played Premier league style, upped the intensity and blew Croatia away…making them look old.

The only negative is we only scored 4…..should have been 6…..great start giving us much needed belief when playing the better sides.

Credit to Tuchel, England really went for it last night - I hope they keep it up! Defence needs a bit more thought but our midfield bullied Modric at times.

Very much the defence needs sorting, the amount of risks they took with playing out from the back was unreal, a better team would have punished England and goals conceded would have been a lot higher.

Modric has been immense in his career but he was out of his depth last night.

Had Southgate been in charge he’d have tried to protect the 2-2 and we’d have probably ended up losing. His risk reward dial was always turned to very low volume. We’d have beaten Italy in the Euros final with Tuchel at the helm, IMO. Instead Southgate tried to protect the 1-0 lead and we all suffered the consequences.

I like this different and positive approach. If we’re going to get beaten we’re going to lose due to some magic on the opposition, not by our lack of guts and ambition. Go for it full tilt and see what happens. It’s not Gung Ho as he has a plan and a system about runners getting beyond Harry Kane. It’s going to be exciting and not without jeopardy.
We do look suspect at the back but Marc Guehi should sort some of that out.

Thought both Modric and Ronaldo looked passed it in their games yesterday
