Drink Driving is a no-no, there are rules and punishments in place to deal with culprits. That should be enough for most people. The fact that footballers are public figures probably means they should be more careful and should they make a mistake, they should carry the punishment and make a show of apology and speak out on their mistake, lead by example.

Tell that to the families of the thousands of people either killed or seriously injured each year by drunk drivers.

It’s abhorrent and selfish- and a professional footballer has far more resources than most people in society to ensure that they’re never in a situation where they’re drink-driving.

Wasnt formally named but it was involving two academy players (same time) & im sure on clubs grounds (from memory)....

Any news snippets didnt name anyone or club i don't think, but there was whispers that we was the club... & at the same time peck was dropped from the u21s / frozen out with no reason at the time he was a top performer for the u21s & also I cant remember which other player it was, that was also frozen out adding more fuel... the latter got let go by the club, but nothing come to light, I've heard things myself but not my place.

Either it was a big coincidence, it happened but it was consensual or....... etc

But being frozen out could also have been tactic used to make him sign a new contract which PA had form for (hence coincidence).


Edit - someone mentions about it further up vaguely & mentions the other academy player, he was banging them in st the time as ive seen his name a few times on score sheet

There's a lot of speculation here, non of this is public knowledge, its possible (or even probable) that it didn't even happen, there's been no links to this in the press, no formal investigations, and on top of that, some pretty heavy jumps from speculation to linking players being left out of teams to suggest they might have been involved, in something that is pure speculation anyway.
