We've had more exciting games this season (that period when we were scoring 3/4 every game) than last season.

Every season my ambition for us is to do better than I have seen us do before. So I want:

League: promotion, or higher than 9th in the top tier.
Playoffs: win them if we qualify
FA Cup: reach a final
League Cup: reach a final

We have had 17 chances to go one better and reach a Cup final or win the playoffs, and have failed every time. That's pathetic.

By that criteria I reckon the following seasons (for me) meet that ambition

88-89
89-90
91-92 (9th)
92-93 (first FA Cup Semi in my lifetime)
02-03 (first LC Semi in my lifetime)
05-06
16-17
18-19
22-23

And I reckon these are the season where we had a one-off game chance to meet the "ambition" and failed

And the following the seasons where we did meet the ambition, but also failed

He gave up and it was obvious to anyone other than Wilder who kept picking him when he and his agent clearly had their sights set elsewhere.

I remember shouting at my TV watching that tosser stroll about letting players walk past him. Saying it was just the Palace match is revisionist thinking.

I just thought he was a poor player from start to finish. I never subscribed to him having a great half-a-season; there were a few moments where a few things came off, and at the time I thought the one thing they all had in common was he did the only possible thing he could do as there was absolutely no other option, and it came off. Literally whenever he had an option or spent even a second thinking what to do he messed up. He couldn’t get a game when Duffy and the rest were in the side in the championship, and was never particularly good in my view.

As much as I think he was a fantastic goalkeeper for us, and is still a fantastic goalkeeper, Dean Henderson comes across as a bit too arrogant and cocky for my taste (not that he has to give a fuck about me!).

Disclaimer. Maybe that's the confidence/ persona you need as an elite level goalkeeper, and as I don't know him he's probably a nice chap too.

I wouldn't say that. After leaving us he went on to even greater success but also had to work hard for it (particularly when he was at Manure) but he still speaks highly of us and whenever he faces us he is both humble and appreciative.

So, I'm going for ultra confident which is exactly what a keeper needs to be!

Whilst I think Hecky did a decent job at championship level (with cheatcode Ndiaye) and was shit on in the PL season I think he's over rated by many.

He's done ok with PNE and other jobs but nothing outstanding. He fits more like a good coach to me.

I see a few say they'd have him back now and SU Way Nick is doing a video tonight about "should never have sacked Hecky"

It always amazes me that people would actually want to do a dump in the Kop bogs, I think I'd rather shit myself.

I think the only bogs more foul and disgusting are the portable toilets at the start of a mass participation running event!

Unless you're sat smack bang behind them they're not a problem.

How wide are the pillars, about three feet?

If you're near the back they obscure about 2% of your view of the pitch.

It's really not a big deal.

Goalkeepers are always odd. At least he has the ability to back up the swagger.
