I always say one thing when it comes to moaning about United and as things are looking a lot better these days then it seems even more fitting.
If your not happy with what you see then stay at home! Simple ain't it.....While the rest of us who are behind the club and can see progress can go to the games and actually enjoy them without some twat whinging in our ears for 90 minutes!

To be fair Swiss,what have we paid in transfer fees, its not a lot considering we never had to sell anyone in the first place.We had funds available and after the board saying this,we have had money for Taylor,Maguire and a couple of others,so when you think about it,shoestring budget isn't a mile away.Yet,no doubt some won't see it that way

I could be wrong but I think we paid a fee for McNulty and there was more than likely a fee for Higdon since he had another year or so left on his contract in Holland. judge made a statement but he couldn't back it up and say for sure that we've not paid any fees.
Again what others have said is that we'll have paid agents fees and of course wages for those players who've come in on free transfers.
So just because were debt free and have money available doesn't mean that we have to spend it all, it's not going to be taken away from us if we don't spend it, most likely that we'll have this money plus more to spend once we get to the championship.
I've said it on other threads but it sounds like Clough has been pretty happy with his summer, we've brought in 9 players - Nine. It's hardly a sign of a club going backwards. I'd also say that most of the players who've come in are at a prime age. We've got a squad pretty much in their mid twenties and we've got what seems to be a more physical presence in the side with the likes of Bash and Higdon.
Don't disagree much there pal.What i would say though,is i know you said we got nine players in but we have got rid of more than nine players so i think it makes that roughly even,admittedly as alcoblade said,them players needed getting rid of,but still,they were getting paid none the less.
There is one thing for sure,if a rainy day does come,we will have plenty in reserve.The season is allmost here and what i would say is all us Blades need to stick together now,the players are going to need all our support because teams aren't going to lie down and give it us scot free(no pun intended).We need to not get on the players backs when the chips are down because the pressure of them playing infront of us will be quite big for some of them i imagine,so come on Blades lets give it em this year,no easy ride at BDTBL.

Don't forget,that these players coming in on 'frees',will demand a signing on fee,often to the perceived value of their transfer if they were being sold ,or at least use that as a starting point for negotiation !
Higdon,I heard from a decent source,cost us a fee of 250k to his club ,so we can take that one from there....

Just extending what you've said Swiss, it seems that some of our supporters want to be impressed. Nothing less than a marquee signing costing a large wedge, with a big salary to match. Of course, this would give us that guaranteed shoe-in to the Championship.....but what if it didn't work out as these supporters are having us believe? If I recall Wolves' purchase of Leon Clarke hasn't exactly gone to plan, maybe he'll come good, but for each club the risk involved is immense, but hey, do we care? We just want that superstar who'll offer us far more than we currently have, even if that's picking up a weekly wage that will make our eyes water regardless of whether he's in the team or not, isn't that how it's meant to work?
So far, what I've witnessed is astute management. I'm like everyone on here, this season's a promotion season, but who doubts that the management and players aren't thinking the same too? Every team will be thinking about their own respective ambitions, be they high or low. As wizadry said above, it's time to be that twelth man, not pick a scapegoat, and stop this descent into moaning at the first sign of something going wrong. By all means, when criticism is deserved, give it, but not as we've seen recently. It's divisive, destructive, and most worrying, it shows that we have a headstrong minority who seem hell-bent on causing problems no matter what damage they create.
Yes, over the years we've underachieved, but the footballing world of today is such a completely different proposition to at any time in it's existence, and we're having to accept that we need to generate funds from somewhere while not causing us to eventually cease trading. To listen to some, we ignore the rules of an ambitious club, or we should if they had their way. We employ experts, so why don't we let them do what the amateurs on here are ill-equipped to do? Sorry if that offends anyone, but then it's ok for these very same supporters to act like loose cannons and behave as if their feelings are the only thing that matters. If you want to polish your talent to bore, why not join a Wendy forum, they've been practising for decades so you should feel right at home.

Not forgetting of course the tribunal fees we'll be paying for both Wallace and McGahey, which will likely be 6-figure sums for both. McNulty's fee was reported as in the region of £125,000. I'm going to guess we paid about double that for Higdon.

Not heard the club quote any fees for incoming and outgoing. For several years now United have tried to keep all fees as 'undisclosed' unless they are a free transfer.
Does that automatically mean that we paid nothing then?

"Wildly stating" ? Really ? I didnt literally mean zero cash has gone from our budget on players but after being told we dont need to sell players and will hang onto our young talent we went on to sell an academy graduate who has played for england u-21 's
As far as I can see the signings so far are all free transfers , of course of you can provide some evidence that we have paid a transfer fee for any one then please tell me how much it is ? Im genuinely interested to know
