Oli Mcburnie scoring but not celebrating at BDTBL ,He was joined with Lundstram Egan and Dowell , ( with Slater injured so missing a return home ) ,, I wonder what the record is for number of ex Blades playing against us in one game ,, Lundstram becomes the 2nd ex Blades to be sent off against us this season at BDTBL following Tommy Doyle for Birmingham ,, goals this weekend for Nathaniel Mendez-Laing , and Jesrum RakSakyi who like Jamie Murphy scored last weekend and this ,, not been good week for Jake Eastwood who scored own goal last week and got sent off this week although his Cambridge side went on to beat Notts County 4-0 ,

Doesn't it make you feel old if you can remember the young fresh faced Trace when he first signed for us, and now he's not so young himself.

Note, I'm in the same boat and the aging process is normal so not any criticism, but just makes me feel older!

BBC Match of the Day , Goal of the Month , for March 2026 , 4 goals of the 6 contenders were from ex Blades , 2 from Morgan Gibbs-White , 1 each from Will Osula and Iliman Ndiaye ,, with the result being 3rd place MGW , 2nd Iliman with Will Osula getting the Goal of the Month

Nation League has a huge game on Saturday, Rochdale vs York, last match of the season and winner takes all in the promotion race. York might end up on 107 points and fail to gain promotion.

Rochdale have Ethan Ebanks Landell, Kyron Gordon, Matt Done and Tyler Smith in their ranks.

Really surprised Gordon dropped down that far. Looked a talent in the limited minutes I saw him, if a bit lightweight.

Considering there’s 5 teams in League Two on 38 points or less (ten adrift of the next team) there’s probably a decent case now for an extra promotion place for the National League.

I think arsenal were sniffing around him when he was in our development side. He's had a very good season, still only 24, it wouldn't suprise me to see him end up end up having a solid EFL career.

Harry Boyes and Zak Brunt are also having good seasons in the national league.

Yes we’re all getting old , I really know what you mean , I wouldn’t have recognised him .
Age is a funny thing , we all hate getting older , but we can’t live without it ….. literally lol

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.

Not so much a "where are they now" but re ex Blades ,,
Villa winning The Europa League , the last time they won European Trophy ( The European Cup) , 4 of that team wore the red & white ,, Ken McNaught , Dennis Mortimer , Gordon Cowans and Peter Withe

I remember Withe from the 1980s, I was expecting somebody with pace like Linford Christie, he had pace more like Agatha Christie.

I reckon even The Chief might have taken him over 5 yards, that says it all!

While with The Blades , Peter Withe went on loan to Birmingham City , while there were played Birmingham at BDTBL, gave Birmingham permission to play Withe , I think we had their keeper ( Hansbury ?) and they agreed he could also play we lost 2-0 Withe scored both

Pat Heard was on the bench that night and I remember playing against him a few times when I started playing men’s football at 15/16, he played for a team affiliated to the Post Office but I think he was a pub landlord and he ran the pub that the team drank at so they dragged him out to play.

He’d have been around 40 years old at the time and I remember thinking he was a proper old bastard, now I’m that old!

Gary Naysmith, Mr. 7 out of 10 during his first 2 seasons with us, has been managing Stenhousemuir for the last 3 and a half years. He has won two promotions, most recently via the playoffs to put Stenhousemuir into the second tier in Scotland for the first time since 1975 (when there were only two tiers) and into the second tier of the current set up for the first time ever.

Naysmith is not staying around, however. It was announced during the playoffs that he's moving to Ayr United, also currently a Championship side. I suspect there will be more money and resources available there.

Would that be 7 out of every 10 games?

Not only was he a sicknote, but he was a complete waste of money. We already had Stretch and Delboy.

He was almost ever present in his first two years (77 games out of 92), and in the second was part of the best defence I'd seen us have at Championship level up to then (Kenny-Naysmith-Naughton-Morgan-Kilgallon). He was decent, and steady.

His last season was a write off due to injury, agreed. Look who we played in his place to see how much we missed him.

There is an argument we did not need him - although remember he was signed when we got Beattie as well as Jags going to Everton. I always thought you could view the three deals together.

I defer to your staistical knowledge and maybe the last season coloured my judgement, but over his 3 years, 79 games is only just over half the the games we played.
