What kind of problems will this make us?.Will Kyle Walker & Phillips be out of reach.
To bring this in over night will cause problems for all Championship.

We will Need to sell a few top earners and pick up a few gems on lower wages.

18 other clubs however will also be in the same boat.. makes smart recruitment even more important

Didn't someone say the SCR rules will benefit United as opposed to disadvantage us?

I've not read up on them so not sure what the big takeaways are
It depends on who we are comparing ourselves against. 85% of revenue including any players sales could be quite a hefty chuck. Especially by offloading Mee and Davies off the pay role and likely to get rid of Ings too, we free up budget. This is where we desperately need good negotiation on player sales when they happen to maximise our margin.

Not sure how this benefits anyone other than parachute teams and those with massive sponsorship deals like Wrexham
The downside to this is also with those types of team especially when either West Ham or Spurs drop, they will likely sell a couple of bigger players probably for a shockingly big fee which will mean they could easily have a large warchest as have the parachute payments plus that years payment for x number of players even 85% of that will be substantial.

Basically, clubs can now only spend 85% of their revenue. If anything, it puts us at a pretty significant disadvantage as our parachute payments are now done so will need to move the high earners out before we can spend anything - including on salaries. Even with the premier league relegation clauses dropping salaries, players like Gus will still be on a significant chunk of change.

I would suspect there will be some kind of ‘soft launch’ this season - a bit less strict as sides like us have to get ourselves in a position to comply without completely fucking ourselves over - but it means next season is likely to be more painful than initially anticipated unfortunately.

This is where our owners need to pull weight.

I did hear a couple of months ago that we're working on a significant shirt sponsor deal for next season. Won't be United Airlines levels, but should be significantly bigger than Village Hotels and Midnite

But surely not as big as Teletext Holidays?

We and others have also shown that payments don't guarantee promotion both ways.

Smart manager, recruitment etc will trump throwing money around, hopefully wilder if he's still here* might benefit from less money imo
