80 years ago today Sheffield United won the Football League North title.

Although not officially recognized as a league title as the Football League didn’t return until the 1946/1947 season due to World War Two thought it was worth mentioning… ⚔️

2nd picture was taken in Berlin from a match between Sheffield United XI and a Combined Forces XI a few weeks after the Burnley win.

I dont take interest in our matches during the war years but this is an interesting photo as I have not seen this before. I dont have a Twitter account but can you post the full photo please? The keeper is Fred White and the skipper is Harry Latham.

65+ years a Blade and never heard about this.
But all my family were Wendies so not likely to talk about it
Just as my Dad never remembered the blades 7-3 win but never enjoyed a game more than United 2 Wendy 3 (1963?)
Because in his words
United blinded Wendy
Wendy had 3 attacks and scored 3
Shit does happen.
Had a Wendy uncle landed on DDay and stayed in Berlin some time
(learnt me the German for 'would you like to go for a walk in the woods with me young girl' as a Toddler before I knew the significance as a P take)
Sadly can't ask him if he went.
Is that old Blade in Westfield still alive?
Does he remember, did he go?
