I nearly didn't bother this season after the ludicrous Wilder sacking. It was obvious we were in for a season of struggle. That feeling was compounded when I saw the signings we were making. Depressing as you knew they'd be a long term ball and chain.I like to see teams controlling games and winning the vast majority which is what we already had so I was rolling my eyes already.

The entertainment this season has lived up to what a lot of people said they missed last season but to me it's a sign of a team that doesn't function as well. A few tweaks in the summer and we were nailed on, imo, so to take that away was heartbreaking given the inevitable repercussions. A slow motion car crash if you will

I think we're in the long term rebuilding stage now which will take patience, a lot of correct decisions and consistency in terms of the management and decision making. A very difficult thing to do in modern football with the associated pressures and myriad delusions of fanbases. McCabe/Warnock managed it before the 2006 promotion but football was a different beast then. I'll be renewing with expectations recalibrated. Anywhere above the buttom 6-8 will be a good finish. A play off finish would be amazing.

Looking around the ground on Friday there were lots of gaps, but it is a bank holiday and some will be away.
Looking at the poll 23% say they are not renewing, if that is any reflection of the whole fan base the owners should be worried as that is close to a quarter of our season ticket income gone. I don't think pay on the day fans or some silly singing section will make up the shortfall.

Doubt I'm renewing. It remains value compared to matchday prices for sure, but way too many times I've been and wondered why I bothered. Nearly didn't even bother leaving the pub once I saw Friday's starting line up. No sign of learning anything, no sign of progression, no sign of atmosphere, no sign of risk taking or sensible off field movements, no sign of entertaining football more than once in a blue moon - and frankly, with crickets from the board, no sign that any of this will change. I would probably renew if I knew we were getting a change of manager in the summer and I was in work like I was twelve months ago, but as not it's a pretty easy choice. Lots of other cheaper more exciting options for me to get my football fix.

Explains why most opinions on here are moronic, including the latest brainwave that wilder is the worst man at the club, and even though the board’s decisions on recruitment and Selles are clearly to blame for the failure this season, people still love to blame it all on wilder. The explanation being that 25-30% of the site don’t even go to games 😅

I agree with most of this, but not sure about the lovely stadium.

I think fans of some clubs are jealous of our stadium from a historical standpoint, and it's becoming a dying breed of old style stadiums.

That said, unless it's change massively in the last couple of years, it needs plenty of money spending on updating the facilities.

If I was in the UK I'd be going to watch the games, I suspect not many people are going for the whole experience though.

The away fans love coming to the Lane argument is more about nostalgia than any sort of jealousy. I’d compare it to going to Ninian Park before Cardiff moved to their current stadium. It was great nostalgia being in the late 2000s going to a stadium more fitting to the 70s/80s but I wouldn’t want to go there for every home match.

At least half of the clubs in the Championship provide better facilities for away fans than we do for home fans. I think the cost of match day tickets and season tickets should reflect the lack of investment in the stadium.

For retirement it's a great deal. I can't make the evening games as the trains are too unreliable, so i give those matches to my family. Financially I can well see the day ticket prices going up to £50, so I renewed Thursday.

My lad and I have had a season ticket for over 15 years, but next season although I get a senior, he is now a full paying adult and I’m not sure what’s on offer is worth the price. I’ve been going since 1970 and I can honestly say that I’ve never been so disillusioned and disinterested with the match day experience. A home game requires an hours journey there and back, arriving 2.5 hrs before kick off to be sure to get parked. I honestly cannot recall a memorable game this season, the side wards, backwards obsession is killing the passion I’ve always had for United.

I’m not fully decided but I think it’s more likely that I’m not going to bother

At the same time, I am so frustrated with the complete lack of composure within the defensive lines which results in aimless hoofing forward and losing possession, so I guess we can't both win?

Just remind me when Wilder took over and how many games he's been in charge of this season ?
Oh and his wonderful January transfer window.

I'm renewing despite the 5 hour round trip on public transport and staying in the Copthorne for night matches. Got really good seats in the JSS with nice people around me.
Try to get to Sheffield for about 11am for 3pm kick offs or 3pm for evening kick offs.
Meeting Blades mates I've known for years, good grub, good beer.
However, Mrs BoSS and I discovered the joys of small ship cruising last year and we'll be doing more in the coming years so will miss some matches.
I fully understand why some folk might not renew but I would remind them (as have others) that they can pay in 3 installments. Also, if they intend to go to some matches, they should get a membership which has some benefits, I believe.

I'll get one if I can sit between Mrs Brown and former Blue Peter presenter Mark Curry. Here, take my money.

The newly opened NCP car park on Queens Road on Justpark, means we can leave a lot later for games now. £4.50 four hours. But shhh don't tell anyone, don't want everyone knowing.😉

I agree with a lot of that except.... CW picked the strongest team from what we had available, so not sure where you are coming from with that?

Who do you cruise with mate? We love a good cruise 😁

Farm road club is our choice for parking. Free parking and cheap beer. Got to put your reg in at the bar though 👍

I may crumble yet, but pretty sure I am not going to renew.

I get the concession as I am 60, and can spread the cost but I just feel completely detached from football.

The excitement has been lost. I have no desire to see us promoted to the Prem. Its a corrupt horrible league which we we will never seriously compete in or be taken seriously.

We have owners who don't appear to have any interest in us other than as an investment. They bought us, thinking we were about to get into the Prem and having failed have no plan B. Oh and they are typical Americans who talk a good game but know feck all.

Last Friday I didn't go. I just couldn't be bothered. Its a 2 hour round trip and I thought I would rather go for a run or play some golf. Its just how I feel. Modern football is shit. Overplayed players, constant cheating and SKY TV have killed it for me.

Overpaid! And some overplayed 😃

Still renewing. My son is too.

Started going regularly from January 1970. Had BLUT season ticket for every season for from 1971-72 season until 1976-77 season (although I started at boarding school from August 1973). Stood in the Kop when I was home from school for the 1977-78 season and sat in the South Stand for the 1978-79 season.

After leaving school in June 1979 I decided to buy a season ticket in the South Stand from my own money for the 1979-80 season but my dad decided against buying one.

A few days later after joining Sheffield Deaf Cricket Club I was asked to attend training with the football club on Thursdays, playing football with adults was an eyeopener for me after playing school football for several years. The football club wanted me to play for them in the Friendlies League for the 1979-80 season but the problem is that I had already bought a SUFC season ticket. Discussing the problem with my dad, he told me "Playing football is better than watching football, I will use your season ticket when you are playing football". Problem solved. Looking back I enjoyed playing football, the culture and night outs with the lads more than I did watching the Blades in the 3rd and 4th divisions. In the mid 1980s the football club withdrew from the Friendlies League due to player shortage. Around that time I developed a passion for playing chess (I still play nowadays).

When Bassett became our manager I started to attend matches more regularly and then bought an half season ticket in December 1988. Always bought a season ticket since 1989 and I think I will carry on until I am too old to attend matches.
Bassett revived my interest too. I didn't attend a single game after the 1985 86 opener v Shrewsbury, up until 1988. Been consistent in attendance since Bassett revived the club.

I had one of those enquiry emails as I had missed about 6 games in total. Often can't be bothered braving foul weather at night but aim to do all 23 next season.

I'll renew, I'm a senior, but I'm up early weekdays so I can't get to midweek matches. I've had to work it out if I'm better off or not missing 7 or 8 matches a season. Turns out I am. Just hope there's more Saturday matches next season 🤞

Sadly with the scheduling you will probably watch more home matches on tv than live.
I'm in a similar position to reedy, this season I'll miss 7 midweek games so it's not too bad. Then again, if the team only bother to play 2/3ds of a game, I'll only attend 2/3ds 😉

There's never any doubt I'll renew, because it's a hobby and a way to catch up with friends and family every week.

However, I have really struggled since the 19/20 season to fully get excited about it. I think for the rest of my Blades supporting life we'll probably never reach that peak again, but the fact the peak was robbed from us anyway just kind of leaves the feeling that we're destined to never actually have any sort of success. Given that next season is likely to be our lowest ebb since that peak, means I'm probably going to be even more disengaged.

You obviously have to hang on to any sort of hope, and mine is that with a couple of sales to fund the summer, Wilder can once again build a side challenging at the top. He's done it every other time he's had a summer transfer window here (with the exception of the one in COVID, which was an uprecendented situation in a league we were always likely to get relegated from).

I remember years ago there was very little savings in having a season ticket compared to match day prices.

However this doesn’t get mentioned enough. The Prince copied much of Chansiris ticketing strategy. We have some of the most expensive match day ticket prices outside the Premier league.

The prices are so high that it makes our season tickets look great value.

So it’s a no brainer for me.

I always go to at least 66% of home matches no matter how bad we are. So it’s saving me money by renewing.

A few if us on the Kop have the same discussion about renewing and we always renew because the prices look like bargains compared to match day prices.

Never really considered a ST as a financial decision, more a commitment to something you love doing.

I'll finish on 8 games this season which sort of informs me I don't really anymore.

Until Sky change the scheduling
