I was told that my Grandad used to listen on the radio to the team news. If he found out that Jimmy Hagan wasn’t playing he wouldn’t bother going.
The Star on Friday evening usually revealed the line ups for the next day matches until the 1980s.

Looks like a big move could be on the cards.......

"...Liverpool are looking to sign Senegal forward Iliman Ndiaye, 26, from their city rivals Everton. (Teamtalk)..."
Not saying he doesn't deserve a big move, but I hope this isn't the big move he makes.

He is such a likeable character, Everton fans also (from what I have seen) seem to appreciate him in the same way we did.

I actually think of the "big" English clubs, Man United would be the best move...

They are after him as well, see my second post

Man United has been a graveyard for promising careers for a long, long time. Manager uncertainty, a patched up squad...

Liverpool would be a way better move.

Lets be honest , if Everton decide to cash in he'll go where the money is , I would and so do most.
Man U give you a profile across the world like no other club including Real Madrid.

Agreed, I don’t even like them, but if I was a player with the chance to be number 7 at Manchester United, you’d be absolutely stupid to not go for it. Biggest club in the country by far.

I know. the head understands it. The heart still sees him at a young player dancing in front of our fans and want him to be liked

Was only a matter of time. We all saw his potential and quality here.

Marseille seemed desperate to land him and use a bit of emotional blackmail only to bin him off 1 year later. It annoys me that because whilst I suppose Iliman got the chance to fulfill a childhood dream. They didn't have any patience with him. And given his quality it's baffling.
They never even tried playing him properly in a role that suited him more. Pretty bizarre really they were quite happy for Everton to come in and take him.

He might not move this summer but you can see it on the cards. He's still got 3 years left on his deal so fee should be healthy.
If I were Everton in the daft market it is, be looking for £50-60m+.

Sadly for us we either won't get any additional sell on because Marseille stitched us up a bit on the Everton sale (Made the fee low enough to not give us a percentage). Or it will be a small amount.

I agree, I don't think Man U is a good place to go and thrive.

Newcastle would've been a good fit but looks unlikely that they'll be in the market for players like Ndiaye since they won't get Champions League football.

I don't think that the move from Everton to Liverpool would happen and i also don't think theres enough desperation at Everton for them to need to cash in with their rivals. They're having a decent season by their usual standards.

Man U back in the Champions League are likely to be a bigger pull than Chelsea, Villa probably no bigger than Everton despite them having Champions League football. If Everton have ambition they'll want to hold on to him

Perhaps he'll plan to sign a new contract with Everton and do the video... then make his dream move (sorry, couldn't resist that)

For all his amazing ability I always thought his body would hold him back to play at the top top level, just didn’t think he was strong enough or that his body would hold up. I was totally wrong on that and now think he could get into any side in the world.

N'diaye singlehandedly saved us from financial oblivion. Think that earns him a pass for his unsavoury departure. Not a chance we'd have got promoted without him
True, but I'd have been fascinated to see how we would have got on in the Prem if Ndiaye was still with us. That promotion team was built around Ndiaye's strengths and his short notice departure royally screwed us in that transfer window. Any optimism amongst the fanbase was extinguished when Ndiaye left and the new additions got nowhere close to replacing him.

We'd still have finished 20th I reckon. He'd have proven himself though and gone in January or the summer for outrageous money

Wherever the lad ends up I'll be happy in the knowledge that we gave him a platform to display his talent and he entertained us in turn .

we started off the season with a few close results eg Everton that we probably would have won with Illi and Sander. We certainly wouldn’t have had to start the season with Osborn and Bash in midfield. Suicidal stuff
True, but on the other hand we'd never have afforded the calibre of player we brought in to attack the PL season such as Slimane, Larouci and Traore 🤮
