Hamers attitude

Cheers for the offer.

How many times did he win Championship player of the year at Coventry?

How do you measure ‘influence’? I’d say last season with 10 goals, 8 assists and championship player of the season, added to the 9 assists and 2 goals in an underperforming and average side this season is pretty good.

In his best season for you he got 11 goals and 10 assists. It’s hardly ‘night and day’ is it?!
So he got more of both goals and assists for us yet you say less influential?

We also had Gyokeres at the same time. If you're after an argument on who's the best between Hamer and Gyokeres I will let you argue with yourself.

Go and bother some Norwich fans, they could be your rivals. Have finger counting games and compare sisters.

Maybe we had other players who helped us us get to 90 points and Hamer was as influential as we needed him to be?! Maybe you were completely reliant on him and Gyokeres?!

I don’t think I need an argument on the Gyokeres v Hamer, one plays for Arsenal and one for The Mighty Blades. Hamer is clearly winning that one 🤪

It is all about understanding the player and his abilities and what role he is assigned to.
We bought him for the Prem and even though we were rubbish he was one of our better players. He played in CM along side Souza against Liverpool at the lane. He was up against McAllister and did well. He was very good defensively with his positioning.

I first saw him play at Coventry v Cardiff on the night after we beat Peterborough. Hamer and Gyorkeres both played well. I can see that he could be very effective for is in CM but he would need the right partner and be given clear instructions. POTY last season was deserved for his performances and the quality of the goals he scored. Vinny Souza was an absolute beast last season. Vini's ability to read the game and his pace and strength meant tracking back was less of an issue. Against WBA Hamer was slow to react.

While Hamer can be more than effective on the left wing, Wilder likes the Idea of inverted wide men so he can cut in onto his right foot and shoot. Personally I would play him in the middle of the 3 in a 4231. which would increase his passing options and leave us less exposed particularly as our full backs defend very narrow.

The bigger issue this season is something Wilder needs to address. Bamford O'Hare Hamer Brooks Seriki Burrows Peck all like to take touches on the ball which causes tippy tappy football and slows down the attack and makes things complex. Our best is when those players play with speed and less touches. The ball needs to be driven into the box.

With some players its about matching up the right combinations to get the best out of them. I would like us to be more direct through the centre. When its slow up and down the sidelines we are very exposed on turning over the ball.

Objectively being Player of the Season is always going to be a strong defence.

I do however take that if he was somehow central you’d have him even more involved.

If we played 4-3-3 with two more defensively minded players or we played 5-2-1-2 or even 5-3-1-1 you could argue you might get more of his best bits and less of his deficiencies.

He’s out now for two games and he hasn’t really been starting during these decent away wins of late so let’s see.

Hamer hadn’t featured much away in the last two wins.

Makes you wonder if him being clear for the final run of games was a little pre-planned.

They won’t admit it. But Gus was not great when he came on at QPR or Pompey.

Perhaps Wilder was going to use him sparingly anyway and said let’s have you fit for the final 8.

Wouldn’t be surprised to see a similar team to that which played at QPR.

It reeks.

He's the most entitled player we have and clearly thinks of himself as better than the level he's currently playing at.

If only his performances could back that up. Totally bested today by his opposition in every position he decided he wanted to play next.

He simply isn't good enough to build your team around because of his attitude. Not his ability.

Get fucking rid for whatever someone will offer.
He is absolutely PISSED OFF with the imbecile Wilder who constantly plays him out of position in this totally unsuitable position.
Added to by the third rate lightweight floorboards OHare playing in his best position, No 10
AS I AM.
JUST PLAY HAMER AND BROOKS in alternative positions
IT REALLY IS THAT EASY!
Only a fellow Wilder imbecile cannot see this as brain dead 'tactics'
- weakening the team VASTLY going forwards and to a lesser extent defensively.
