My feed was awful. Saw more of QPR manager's gelled hair than the game!

Bits I saw (sorry can't really rate as it kept cutting out)

Peck very good throughout. Hoever did well and was solid and Chong gave his best performance for us since Stoke was it? Defence did what they had to. Bindon looked composed. Burrows continuing to improve. Riedewald's composure made a huge difference. He just makes us so much more solid. O'Hare looked more like his old self and took his goal well reacting smartly.

Campbell scored a superb goal and got in behind a few times. Peck was very good on both goals with clever passes. Davies did what he had to, one mad race out where he looked like Ralph Wiggum going through a window and a bit of window cleaning on a late corner. We protected him well though.

Cannon did nothing and thought subs were largely poor giving it away a lot. Hamer with another stupid booking which sees him now out for two games isn't it? They were the negatives.

Despite the changes, United gave a professional performance and handled an awful QPR side easily. We had a bit of a let off on the goal maybe and seemed a bit soft but about time we got a decision! Need to see it again though. They did not really threaten much and after we controlled the first half, we slowed it down, made it bitty and saw it out with comfort.

Makes the defeat Wednesday even more annoying and despite his poor season, Davies for Cooper is a downgrade. Still think we are set for a mid table position but any slim chances of relegation are now banished surely?

QPR have a lot of injuries but looked a side lacking in confidence and the defending for the goals were worst than us in the week.

Smyth pushed Davies and was offside as he was impeding Davies. Double foul. Rightly ruled offside. Lino was spot on.

Hamer was dreadful and that stupid booking goes with about five more he has already managed. It’ll probs make us better balanced without him.
Agreed Haner had a disgraceful cameo. Constantly gave the ball away, another trademark booking he just didn't look interested.
We need to cash in on him on the summer.
Ps Blaster was crap also

Davies was well protected but still made 2 awful mistakes which should have cost us. Worrying he's now our no 1 until the end of the season.
Hoever did well. Chong also good but faded badly. Cannon was awful and non of the subs did well. An injury hit QPR were dreadful.

Cannon improved after a poor start and did some decent lay offs. Maybe it happened when your feed was cutting out!
I’m sorry. What? decent lay offs? You mean he passed the ball over a short distance successfully? Do his supporters look for anything? Next week it will be he managed to stand up all game.

only cost a tenner on SUTV

Those passess to a Blade was still more that Blaster managed.

I was there and saw him do a few good lay offs after a poor first 20 minutes

I work with a few Brits here, one is a pig and we’ve smashed them this season, another is a Preston fan. Having lost ridiculously to them from a winning position I am now solely happy with us beating Preston and finishing above them in the league. It’s worth $150 to me if we do, I made him a bet when Wilder took over that we’d finish above them.

Thought we played well and should have taken more advantage in the first and early 2nd half with our moments.

Their goal was rightfully disallowed. The player is impeding Davies and offside. It's like our goal disallowed at wembley but really clear cut. Unlike ours.

Chong, Campbell, Peck, Bindon and even Burrows showing good performances. Special note for Hoever too. I think he might challenge Seriki a little next few to start.

Don't feel the need to bash Hamer, Cannon or Blaster.
Hamer gave a few sloppy passes away but at that point our entire side were a little. Cannon kept going all through not gonna fault that. And Blaster needs a good pre season and more game time. But he's still an option and he will get back to his previous self.

One crit I had is why we kept doing the short corners. Prefer to mix it up.

Oh and in the 2nd half their player kolli just pushed Tanganga over super late just after half time and that wasn't a yellow. Baffled me that.

As DB was too cheapskate to pay for it 😉….here’s my two penneth..

Ratings and thoughts

A Davies.. 6. All feared the worst but he had virtually nothing to do, still had a couple of moments of concern a rush of blood when he came charging out and flapped at a couple of corners.. I fear what Wrexham would do up against him but all in all a big sigh of relief all around.

Hoever 7. defensively composed and a few decent runs down the right first half, said early in the week him and Chong might start and they linked up well

Tanganga 6. Did what he had to in the air, a few shakey moments on the ground but okay from him.

Bindon. 7. Good game from him did not allow Kone to Bully him and apart from the (rightly) disallowed goal defended the hoof well.

Burrows 7. Having his best spell of form of the season a few aimless ball forward 2nd half but all in all both full backs had solid games,

Jairo. 7 his partnership with Peck is such a good one, first half they were in complete control of midfield, shame he still gasses out on the hour mark.

Peck. 8. Another one having his best spell of the season, best midfielder on by a country mile on the pitch MOTM.. I don’t see us keeping him this summer if he continues to play as well as he has the last month.

O’Hare 7. Good typical buzzing performance especially first half got his goal, must be a pest to play against

Chong. 7. well who’d have thought it> composed in possession and hard working out of it. His best in a Blades shirt easily.. linked up well with Hoever.

Cannon. 4. I suppose he puts the effort in now but even first half when we were miles on top he was invisible.. became a thankless task 2nd half after Campbell went off.

Campbell. 7. He woken up the last few weeks, runs the channels, puts the centre Half’s under pressure.. basically everything he was doing last season not this and a terrific goal.. was suprised he was subbed not Cannon.

Subs,
Brooks. 5 Never looks as good off the bench as when starting had good chance on the edge of the box which he nearly hit out the stadium.

Hamer 5. Poor I thought gave the ball away and gave some daft fouls away.. picked up his customary booking.

Arblaster 5. I am giving the guy a pass after the injury but he was poor also when he came on. Big summer for him to get fit and hopefully back near his best.

Bamford And Hjelde too late to make an Impact or give a rating.

Wilder 7. Good professional away performance indeed first half I would go as far excellent.. only loses a mark from an 8 as his subs didn’t work and tuned the game a bit scrappy.

QRR.

Dreadful really, not as bad as Wednesday or Charlton but not as good as Oxford. The only idea they had was lump it to Kone. On today’s showing I am really glad we didn’t sign Kone or Wikder target Dunne who was bang average as he always seems to be whenever I’ve seen him.

Lay offs. Over a year on from his expensive signing we are lauding his lay offs. There is a time you just have to see the evidence of your own eyes and not just blindly think he’s good because he’s in our shirt.

Im seeing what I see. I've seen Cannon have plenty of poor games for us, but today I thought - after a poor start - he had a decent game. I haven't got an agenda for or against him

Danny Hall on the comms was full of praise for the runs and press from Cannon and Campbell. He also insisted that Davies is a decent keeper.

Giddings and Hall are the “Peters and Lee” of commentary partnerships.. as in I don’t see what one of them brings to the act and the other seems to be a registered blind person

We protected flappy well, but against a poor team, against a team that creates a few chances we will lose by a few as I have no confidence that he can save us

Poor recruitment that we have been left with a single point of failure in relying on cooper

I genuinely thought Hamer had to do that foul and take the booking. They were through and Burrows wasn’t there as he’d bombed forward on the overlap.

Whilst it looked clumsy, I think he had to do it.

Campbell was excellent and while Cannon did win a few headers other than that was poor. Did a lot of running but not the right running. He doesn’t make the correct runs for a forward and tends to be reactive. Many times a slide ball into the channels was on but cannon didnt read it.

Cannon did absolutely nothing to affect the game - he is a consistent waste of a shirt and we can ill-afford to carry anyone like him next season.
Forget the stupid fee - it's a sunk cost - but FFS get him out of the squad and off the wage bill to whatever extent possible.
You didn't miss anything by him worth seeing DB

The short corners were to draw a couple more players out and play it round the box as they pushed 3 men up front from our corners.

Yeah, but Hamer is worth 20 million in some of our supporters eyes. 😀 I like Gus but too inconsistent, played wide left, not involved enough when playing there and can’t play with O’Hare in the side.
