Eddie Colquhon eh. There we are 1976 or 1977. It might have been a testimonial or perhaps a reserve match with you getting back from injury. A fine bit of skill from you, applause and then you bow to the crowd ala Tony Currie. Always stuck in my mind. Great fun. If you were the real Eddie we could have some real fun here.

Great username

Neil Warnock is regularly on Radio Cornwall especialy during this world cup. Its a pleasure to listen to him. I used to go to the Lane while I was at University. The match programmes are my gretest treasure.

Mark Cooper quote in the article: "But I don't think going to another League One club would benefit Nathan. Maybe it would it if was Sheffield United or someone like that, but even then they'd still have to come up with the money."

It sounds like Posh are after him given their lack of progress re-signing Alcock - it would be slightly amusing if we ended up with both.

As I started following the Blades regularly in 1970 the below picture was up on my bedroom wall. The two most difficult names for me to spell were Colquhoun and Hodgkinson

Thinking about Mick Hill in that 1969-70 photo and in other photos of him in other seasons does anyone else agree with me that he looks different in a lot of photos?

John Harris had the problem of spelling Mick Hill. Hence he hardly ever put his name on the team sheet

I was told Mick Hill's performance depended on how his first touch of the ball went in a game, if it was bad it would play on his mind and he would play crap and nerves before a game would often bring him to the point of being sick. Maybe he had just puked before the photo was taken lol.

Arthur Rowley didnt rate him much and he played only 9 league matches in the 1968-69 season (he played 24 1st division games in the previous season under Harris) when Harris took charge of the team again in August 1969, he didnt bring him back in the team. Bobby Robson signed him for Ipswich in October 1969. My dad took me to watch Wendy v Ipswich in January 1970 (first time I saw Wendy) and Hill scored for Ipswich in the 2-2 draw

My only real memory of Hill was the goal against the pigs in the 1-1 draw where Willie Carlin ran to a woman in the crowd to celebrate just in front of where we were sat. He must have liked scoring at the sty.

Great picture Silent.

Was Woody so famous by the time it was taken they didn't bother with his name in the caption? (although it does look like someone has tried to scrub him out or draw a canoe coming out of his ear).

This picture had some autographs. When I saw this on google images I remembered having the same picture (probably from Shoot!) but without the autographs on my bedroom wall. Just looked at the names, i didnt notice Woody's name was missing. He was brilliant that season. 21 goals and at least 29 assists!
