New Kit for next year?

This one really is easy. For the first 100 years (well since numbers were brought in) of the game most teams in striped shirts had a plain square patch on the back of the shirt with the numbers sewn onto it so the crowd could read it properly.
United seem to have forgotten this visual trick since the 1970s (no idea if it has been revived since?) and black numbers on a red and white background are unreadable to me.
So thats your compromise Berkshire.

We had this in 92-93 and 93-94. I don`t think that the block was on the replica shirts though...

This whole teaser thing is getting embarrassing. It makes us look like a small club who can't believe how lucky we are to be linked with a company like Adidas. Launch the thing when it is ready. It's a shirt, not a Ridley Scott film.

It is a bit much for a football shirt but it's just typical Adidas marketing. They released teasers for the Chelsea, Bayern and Real shirts as well so I'd say it's more driven by Adidas than the club being star struck by a big brand.

Agree that it's difficult to read the names & numbers on a striped shirt but I don't want a name on mine so frankly I don't give a damn. It may well be a nice shirt but we play in red & white stripes.

Also, what sort of a teaser is that?! The care tag?! Seems to further reinforce the plain back though.

They have done it in the past, as said, looks crap without a number;

Why dobt you ring adidas and tell them you dont want numbers on yours so can they change it ?

It was particularly noticeable at Wembley (where you're miles away from the pitch) that our numbers were hard to read. A plain back helps to solve this. However - for supporters who don't want a number on their shirt a plain back looks rubbish. Must be some sort of compromise in between?

Why would you need to see the numbers to be able to distinguish who is who? Can't you tell the difference between Scougs and Harry?

Just playing devil's advocate but surely the 1% is the players so the 'requirement' to make the numbers easier to read would seem to be less important than the other 99% of people who will buy it ?

The badge overlapping the stripes is unforgivable IMO.

That's me done with the club now. I can't believe that after all these years of putting money into the club, following them up and down the country through thick and thin, seeing shysters and crooks come and go on the board, selling our club from underneath us, letting star players go for a pittance, that we would be reduced to this. Talk about being kicked in the teeth when you least expect it.

Adios Blades. It's been mostly good but I just can't put up with your abuse any longer.

That is how a sponsor should be. The log should be cut to fit, not plastered on a default white / black box.
