Ahead of Sunday's FA Cup third round tie against Mansfield Town, the club is delighted to confirm that Patrick Bamford has committed his immediate future to the Blades.

The experienced forward, who has scored five times in six starts since penning a short-term deal at Bramall Lane back in November, has now agreed terms on an 18-month contract until the summer of 2027. Within the deal there's also opportunities to extend further.

Having hailed the impact the 32-year-old has had on his squad, boss Chris Wilder has expressed his delight at his news and the backing he has received from the board.

So the Ipswich rumour was just bollox then

I posted a few days ago or so when that rumour first started doing its rounds that I couldn’t see it happening. They were interested in a striker which is why the rumour came about but I couldn’t see it happening manly to due him having to move to Suffolk and him having a solid North England /Easf Midlands base. He would have been better off in the US over Ipswich plus they aren’t guaranteed promotion yet. The major concern for me was if Hollywood FC got a sniff as they do have the cash and were linked in November but absolutely delighted with this contract and hopefully he keeps going for longer too great we have the option to extend on it.

Yesterday a bloke behind me said he was going if Mansfield scored the first goal, which they promptly did. He was sat there until the final whistle. What a funny bunch of fans we are

I absolutely hated Bamford, not least for when he simulated being struck in the face by Anwar Al. Ghazi & got him sent off; his behaviour throughout & after that match was a disgrace. He later got his comeuppance when he was charged by the FA for deception of a match official. He’s a total end, a cheat & a shit house but he’s now our shithouse & I desperately wanted him to extend his contract & cheered at the announcement at yesterday’s match. I now have a very low opinion of myself to go along with my low opinion of Patrick!
