Not read Gagey’s post on Twitter but I assume he puts it down to Con Trails?
I’ve actually read a scathing review for a hotel on trip advisor. They gave the hotel 1 Star because the taxi driver that drove them there from the airport was rude, ignorant and they were convinced he’d deliberately taken the long way round to bump up the fair. “I will never stay in that hotel ever again!”Generally by the type of people who give 1 star reviews for places because they'd run out of a particular pizza topping at 11pm on a Tuesday night.
The type of people who have never actually been responsible for running or organising anything.
Fair enough, not my area of expertise just trying to apply what bit I do know, on an amateur basis, about temperature monitoring. Maybe I'm being naive but some of the sensors I use are tiny and cost pence each, it would cost very little to monitor a

Arrived home a short time ago. Waded through this thread. Luckily I had an enjoyable day in the end. We'd already arranged a post match meal at a friend's house so we brought that forward slightly - taking in a short walk around Fulwood and watching Lincoln beat Peterborough 5-2 in an entertaining game. But ultimately nobody has died or been imprisoned. Most people have simply had to find an alternative way to pass an hour or two this afternoon.

This is only the second time in about 58 years that I've arrived at a ground only to find the game was off. That was in League 1 days when I drove up from Devon (having been walking a section of the SW Coast Path) to a midweek game in Crewe. I sat in an Indian restaurant thinking there weren't many fans about and it gradually dawned on me that the match had been called off! That was a freezing cold day as well
Possibly a little ambiguousLincoln were playing Peterborough in Fulwood? They kept that quiet![]()
They are very low cost but likely to be on the main manifold pipes that run down the side of the pitch as you might see in the pic I've posted.
What you're suggesting is a sensor on every loop of the smaller pipes which isnt practical or necessarily possible .
Its frost protection for a football pitch after all , if this was an ICU in a hospital it would be monitored everywhere, less so in the hotel , less so for a football pitch .
A frosty pitch might be critical to us but theres nothing to suggest its substandard or anyone did anything wrong . A guy in the plant room all night would only see that the system was firing circulating and working , but wouldn't see every single section that's all .
You two need to get a roomYeah fair enough, take your point and I'll stick to what I know. The fridge is currently 1.46C with an average today of 2.1C, max of 4.72C and min -0.74C, no alarms and no surprises![]()
Surprising levels of temperature variability. Have you checked the internal airflow dynamics?Yeah fair enough, take your point and I'll stick to what I know. The fridge is currently 1.46C with an average today of 2.1C, max of 4.72C and min -0.74C, no alarms and no surprises![]()
Oh, and don't forget they would've left zero stars if only the Trust Pilot system allowed zero ratings.Generally by the type of people who give 1 star reviews for places because they'd run out of a particular pizza topping at 11pm on a Tuesday night.
You should do a daily report and produce graphs at the end of each month.Yeah fair enough, take your point and I'll stick to what I know. The fridge is currently 1.46C with an average today of 2.1C, max of 4.72C and min -0.74C, no alarms and no surprises![]()
Interestingly, while watching the Derby game, the BBC radio Derby commentary team mentioned that the ground staff had been up through the night due to conditions to ensure the pitch was fit to play.
I'd wager we weren't.
It's not about finding a stick to beat the club, it's about wanting to be the best we can be as a football club in all.asoects. Clearly there has been a failure today on that regard and I'd hope we take steps to mitigate it happening in the future in the same way.

Aw - thanks! Some of you have reached a whole new level of bullshit and delusion in this thread, congratulations.
Some good news to cheer you all up.
I had a pre-planned trip to London arranged for yesterday. I found out about the postponement while travelling on the tube.
I had a great day down in that there London and will be able to get to the re-arranged match.
Great result.
Agree with you on this ,but still if United thought there was any chance of a problem im sure they would have acted upon it.Exactly this, no one is asking for heads to roll, it just needs to be acknowledged that something went wrong and lessons will be learnt.
I don’t really care about fans being inconvenienced, it’s the football side of things that’s got me annoyed. If we’d played the match, I’m very confident we’d have won.
After the shit start to the season we’re operating on finer margins when it comes to making the playoffs. Something like this could impact our season (Oxford in better form on the rearranged date, us in worse form, an extra midweek fixture impacting a Saturday match, injuries, new signings/players sold etc.).
So something as small as this could have big consequences for our season and we need to make sure it doesn’t happen again.
I dont know another club stealing our bad reputation. First Wolves with less wins than us and now this !Clearly ready to riot.
…or stop opening the fridge door so often ?You should do a daily report and produce graphs at the end of each month.![]()
What sort of wireless device do you use to send the signal back to your PC?Just thinking about this, I sometimes mess around with temperature sensors. I've got them dotted around inside and outside the house, even in the fridge, and all feed data to my PC. They cost peanuts and I set it up so I get alerts , for instance if the fridge is too warm or too cold.
Zigbee stuff is quite popular in home automation circles, like this one: https://sonoff.tech/en-uk/products/sonoff-zigbee-temperature-and-humidity-sensor-snzb-02pWhat sort of wireless device do you use to send the signal back to your PC?
I've worked with plenty of thermocouples for monitoring outdoor water temperatures -cheap as chips - but these have all been physically wired up to the control system, which switches the tank immersion heater on if it gets close to freezing.
