He’s been shite of late, but I think he has less of an idea where he’s playing than most of our fans do. He’s not a right back and he’s not playing right centre back. Only Wilder and Knill know the wisdom behind where he’s supposed to be playing and what he’s supposed to be doing because Tanganga doesn’t seem to have a scooby.

The current formation is equally as stupid as the overlapping centre backs was clever.

He's in a 3 but Ogbene leaves that much behind him he has no option but to move there to cover, making it a skewed 4 and meaning McGuiness has a big gap next to him

Tanganga has looked brilliant at RCB with a competent partner next to him, so if course Wilder tries to play him anywhere except RCB.

Yes I agree, I also think Tanganga’s presence on the right hand side has also improved Seriki’s game. Having to disrupt that to accommodate first Bindon and then McGuiness hasn’t helped matters.

Still not changed my opinion on Tanganga. His positioning is awful and he gets beat way too often in the air. Millwall really had our pants down with this lad.

Looks like he never really wanted to be here to me and no idea why he is captain.

Like every player that pulls on a United shirt, I want him to do well. But how this lad is captain baffles me. Positionally poor, questionable decision making, and the amount of grappling and shirt pulling is off the chart. Apart from the odd decent header he flatters to deceive. A fit Ben Mee would be a stronger option.

He's just 'alright, standard, and just....okay'.

Nothing special but not a bad player. No doubt, Hoyland will be 'slipping one off the wrist' knowing that he managed to sign someone who is actually 'bog standard' for the Championship.

Problem is we've been spoilt over the last few years with centre backs. His unforced passing errors today were utterly crap but it went more unnoticed than it could have done due to Adam Davies' kicking being utterly abhorrent.

He epitomises the team and squad actually. Not as terminally boring as last season but only really capable of 'turning it on' against teams that don't press us too hard and let us play.

Closest we've got, and he probably is, is Mee. But he shouldn't be starting.

Although still a significant upgrade on Cooper’s kicking.
