Where is the photo taken do you think? Inside the pavilion?
Not sure, looks like Luton away game because you can see Harry Hitchen and Tommy Hoyland in their normal clothes and must have travelled with the team as reserves in case someone gets an injury. The biggest clue is Sam McNab as he didn’t make many appearances that season and this was the line up for 2 home games in October 1952 and the away match at Luton

Silent Blade and HarryHaslam

I always appreciate your knowledge and help in me dating my old photo collection. Most are from my Dad’s era of watching but he’s hopless with dates.

I’ll try and post more. I also have a fair few pre-war.

Here is the link to the match at Luton, you can see photos from the match

You did. I was there too. I think he provided an assist for Dean Saunders
He did (for Stuart not Saunders) which is why the frequent statements about him being our worst ever striker are nonsense. he laid on a goal and had a good game. There are many forwards who we've had who did neither.

One of many great photos from the Pete Hill collection.

I was at school with the lad on the left and was good mates with his brother. This photo dates from about 1976 (note the word "Starsky" chalked on the wall). The lad has got a roti as a snack. Not 100% sure whereabouts in Highfield this photo was taken - at a guess, it's the bottom end of Witney St, where it meets London Rd. Sobering to think these lads are now in their 50's.

And a bit of breaking and entering in the background.

Maurice Maurice you don't half come up with some grisly photos, but I have to say, I find 'em incredibly fascinating!

Here's a good one for you then Greenwich. Winnie Ruth Judd aka The Trunk Murderess complete fruitcake but I find this kind of thing fascinating. Rather than try to explain, I'll attach the link about her. It's a lot of reading but interesting nonetheless so here goes...

Fascinating and gruesome!
Maybe use the "spoiler" Eye icon mate, so the graphic pictures are not immediately seen by all.

Facial reconstruction from a skull dating back to 1361. I bet this stung a bit...

Battle of Visby, Danish victory over locals on the island of Gotland (now Swedish).

When you watch those colourful and fun medieval battle re-enactments it's as well not to think of the reality of close contact battle with sword/axe/spear. Up close and very personal.

Visby was unusual in that, because of the large number of those slain and the hot weather at the time, decomposition of the bodies had set in and, in the rush to bury them, many of the dead piled into the mass graves were still in their armour. Normally bodies were stripped of anything useful.
