Creating a football team is like cooking a fancy meal.

I expected him to be shit, christ I sort of wanted him to be shit.

He is not shit, in the last 4 games he might be our most effective forward.

My son calls him Patrick Bumface.
Please tell me your son is a grown man! That would make it even funnier!

I was one of those who wanted Bumface I just wanted to add! I think I was in a minority! But I also wanted Leon, Maxine and Marlon King! 3/4 isn't bad though!

Out of that list I think Madine signing got the most hatred pre signing.

He's the perfect fit then for 'Bumhole Lane'😁

I was well and truly wrong about him,but then I know fuck all.

But humble enough to admit it.

Looks like the glue we needed 🙏

There was a mouthy Norwich fan on here a while back peddling the myth that Bamford was related to the JCB family, maybe he’ll be back on tomorrow to dispense some more of his dubious wisdom.

It's a weird thing to make up. If he actually was from the (JC)Bamford familiy, mildly interesting anecdotes aside, I couldn't care less.

He went to a posh school in Nottingham, but nobody should feel ashamed of having a privileged education / upbringing. Good for him.

Patrick Bamford has explicitly addressed and denied the JCB rumours on several occasions. In interviews he has called the idea that his dad is a billionaire connected to JCB “a myth” and explained that people, including a Leeds coach, wrongly assumed his father was involved with the JCB-owning Bamford family.

I think that's how it's spread - he had a privileged enough background (went to a few- paying school etc.) and people have put two and two together.

Had an unsuccessful loan spell at Norwich, so hopefully there's even more incentive for him to score tonight.

And Dion Dublin weren't the son of the bloke out of Showaddywaddy either!

He wasn’t. But Wednesday did have a player whose dad was in Showaddywaddy.
Showaddywaddy Bingo...which one ?

Alot of football managers on here didnt wait to give Bamford and Reidewald a chance.

"Must be shit no club since the summer" is the usual comments.
If we could remove all the Tomfoolery in between, moving on Souza and getting Riedewald and 13m wouldn’t have been the worst bit of trading ever done!

Appreciate I'm not necessarily adding any groundbreaking insight here, but this is the truth (and only my 2nd ever ITK after James Beattie):

I know someone who is very close to "Pat" Bamford and they never tell me anything. But this week they've squeaked that it's genuinely a 50/50 whether Pat stays or goes elsewhere. He loves Wilder and would happily sign but he does have some great options on the table (more lifestyle than anything). Most likely scenario if he does stay is agreeing simply the rest of this season, which would give Pat and his folks more time to decide what they want to do next year.

Also we have Frank Lampard to thank that Bamford came in the first place. Lampard personally intervened to convince Wilder of Bamford's fitness/durability.
