I used to be regular on here over a period of years but I have been 'forced off' by the latest bunch of anti-Utd wankers who now frequent this place. The final straw was a couple of well known posters ridiculing and abusing me over my enthusiasm for signing Bamford, and being told football maybe wasnt for me. Bamford looks OK to me as they vanish into thin air , no doubt to return at the next draw. I dont, didnt need that crap in my life hence Ive become a part time contributer now ,and up yours to the miserable twats.
My concern with Bamford was not his ability but whether he’d be fit enough to make a difference right away. That’s been answered in a handful of games—he’s done a brilliant job of keeping himself in shape despite hardly playing any football for 18 months. At the moment he looks like he was the missing piece in this team.

Not sure football is for any of us - if it was, we'd probably choose a more successful club to follow.

But love is eternal. ❤️

He’s only playing Brooks & Seriki because of injuries to Chong, Ogbene, Godfrey & Shackleton. Neither could get near the first team before that.

Hamer picking up an injury lead to O’Hare’s resurgence of form.

We’ll never know if any of the midfielders like Soumare or Matos could have played their way into form like Reidewald has been allowed to do.

The players at back to the 442 we finished last season with and are back playing with confidence, he deserves praise for that.

Let’s see what he gets up to in January as he derailed his own season last time round.

Hope to christ they don't give him any serious money to spend in January.

He's like Jack in Jack and the Beanstalk, he'll go off to market and bring back some overpriced shite.

It's either panto, or Celebrity Bargain Hunt, I can't decide which......

After today’s match you come up with this tosh- why?

We played out of this world today enjoy it FFS.

It must really pain you to see us on such a resurgence, long may your weird pain continue
Not at all, I want the club to be successful. But for us to be really successful and become an established premier league club we will need more investment and sponsorship.

When people are looking for clubs to invest in or sponsors who do you think they would rather work with, the club with a well respected manager who’s unlikely to say or do anything embarrassing or the manager with a history of embarrassing their club on multiple occasions? Investors/sponsors will always want to protect their brand and most likely go with the safer option.

The same goes with top quality players who we’d need to sign to become established in the premier league. In the premier league there’s much more emphasis on coaching ability rather than man management/motivation and the top quality players, especially those from overseas may well not be overly keen to work with Wilder.

I get it though, you love it cos it’s like one of the lads from the pub being the manager and that’s cool, unless you really want to be successful.

Or,
He's improved Brooks and Seriki. He dropped both at one point because of how they were training. His man management is through the roof and he's an expert in making average players very good ones.
And now you're moaning that Matos and Soumare might be better?
Then you finish by hoping he makes a mess of things in January..
What a weird "fan" you are.

But he's not a lad from the pub.
He's the most successful manager of my lifetime, and one of the most successful in the club's history.
How is this lost on people like you just because he sings songs and likes a beer?
You've absolutely no idea whether owners would like him and youve absolutely no clue whether high end Premier league players would enjoy his coaching style.
Honestly, the disrespect this man gets is unreal. Like all his wins and achievements have come about because he scream and shouts and nothing more.

Huge pay off (possibly)
I expect we were still paying his wages sat at home for an agreed period and all we’ve done is offer him the same terms to come back to work for the money. Most manager pay offs are paid over time as a lot of clubs don’t have the cash reserves to drop a couple of £m every time they sack a manager.

I’m fairly sure I’m one of the posters on here who pisses you off, however I actually think you’re a decent poster and very knowledgeable about the Blades so it’s a shame you’ve retreated to the shadows, you should stay and put your views across to the people you disagree with.

For those who you can’t have a reasonable conversation with, the ignore button is your friend. I’ve got a few on ignore for views on the Blades, general twatty mannerisms and because of their ‘general chat’ views. It makes the forum a much better place for me.

Wow, just wow! - do feel sorry for you (I think).

I doubt COH have any money left for any extravagance in January. It’ll be wheeler dealing on loans only - which I think Wilder is generally ok with. It’s when you give him any serious money that he’s poor

We had no where near the best squad in the league. Leeds and Burnley had a far better squad and first XI. Don’t rewrite history with tosh

I said bar Leeds if your eyes are working as it appears they aren’t working

And it’s debatable with Burnley

One things for sure we played w@nk football and clung on to them two somehow for 2/3 of the season

It appears CW has learnt his ways

Where are you now?
How good was that?
Five matches
Four wins one draw.
Four without conceding.
13 goals for. 2 against

Today I thought we outplayed and out performed a decent side in every department . A side who were top two recently. Things are coming together nicely. I'm beginning to be more positive. It can only get better.
ALL since the return of Wilder of Nazareth.
People can have different opinions and get it wrong. Chill the fuck out, it isn’t a point scoring session. We all want what’s best for the club.

I imagine the options to sign Bamford and Riedewald will be there first. Then I guess if anything happens with the loan players, Godfrey, Ogbene, Barry and Bindon might go and it is what do we need to replace them by. If we got rid of all 4 probably another RWB or RW for cover. Potentially a GK that gives Cooper competition but also allows us to send Faxon out on loan for some first team football and we aren’t then relying on Davies as back up.

Cheap point scoring. This Wilder of late has us playing the much more swashbuckling style of play, reminiscent of the side we saw promoted to the Prem in 2019. I don’t think anyone would have been opposed to him returning if we knew this is the brand of football he’d be serving up.

But last season was a total slog - grinding out results but in no way fun to watch, and a penchant for bottling when it really mattered. Mix that in with his petulant tirades captured for the country to see and no wonder many, myself included, were not delighted at the thought of his third stint with the club.

Full credit to Wilder and co. for being much more positive recently and hopefully finding a system that works. I’m more than happy to be wrong, but let’s not pretend we didn’t have our reasons to be concerned.

Excellent summary, unfortunately some people find any criticism of their messiah incredibly difficult to deal with.

Just find the “told you so” attitude childish. We’re all blades, we obviously want our club to succeed regardless of who the manager is

The future is hard to predict. Being anti Wilder 3.0 was a totally reasonable opinion to hold given what we’d seen prior to this season.

Equally, our form could drop off again soon and we lose a few on the spin. Will the anti-Wilder crowds now be correct?

Let’s just see where we are come the end of the season before anyone wants to start serving out humble pie. Whatever the circumstances, hopefully we storm up the league and don’t look back. The rest is bollocks

UTB

Pretty simple...round pegs in round holes. Now hes decided Tanganga isnt a right back and Seriki is playing where he should have been all season we have a firmer base.

Hes also decided that we look a much better team with 2 up front (remember Moore and Campbell last 1/4 of last season?) Combine that with a return to form of sorts from Campbell and Cannon looking like a player

Signing Bamford and Jairo was a master stroke. As is giving Brooks an extended run in the team as he gives us the legs and ability down the rigjt thst we have lacked.

January will be key as I dont think we need to mess with the team as much as hes indicated he might. Another centre back, another competent keeper and a proper right back to deputise for Seriki will do for me if we can keep Jairro and Bamford
I agree with your player suggestions for January. I would add one extra; namely a big strong target man in the Kieffer Moore mould.

He's brilliant at a Jumble Sale.

Terrible in Cole Brothers.

A disaster in Harrods

If he wants a personal assistant when shopping at anywhere other than Poundland, tell him to take Hecky.

He needs a clear out of some of the squad too. Most of the loanees returned, moved Davies on (X2), chuck in Shackleton as a BOGOF.

Deffo need another RB and competition for Cooper.

If we have to sell anyone to free up some cash, then I'm thinking Burrows. Was good last season but looking limited this season.

You're right, they have very little money and want to sell. There's no better manager in the bargain basement than Wilder, and I'd argue, like yourself, few worse when money's thrown at the problem.

But he's not a lad from the pub.
He's the most successful manager of my lifetime, and one of the most successful in the club's history.
