Following last night’s excellent performance and win, one thing really stood out — the camaraderie this group is starting to build.

They were all absolutely buzzing for Sydie getting his goal, and you could see what it meant to him. When Bamford stuck away the second, the team spirit was written all over their faces. Smiles, togetherness, proper unity. It’s a world away from the start of the season, when the body language was flat and everything felt disjointed.

Feels like we’re finally starting to build a real head of steam.

What a difference to the shambles under Selles. Without opening the Wilder debate again, one thing is for sure, he came back to a sinking ship and broken squad. He said himself, he was surprised by what he encountered. Thank god, the owners acted fast.

It was the same on Sunday when Canon scored. He looked a better player last night and these two games have been real confidence builders. It will be a tougher test on Saturday and a good result there should help to set us up for climbing the table and lead to a positive second half of the season. I feel more enthusiastic making the effort to get to games now - especially having taken 2 hours to get to the game last night when 75 minutes is just about sufficient on a good day 😀

Before the QPR game I looked at the match day squad and thought that this was as close to a Chris Wilder squad that we could have (exceptions being Hamer and Arblaster missing).

That set of players (now less Tom Davies) have pulled together 7 points out of 9 and 3 clean sheets.

Those players who we signed in the summer and are not present in the squad need to understand what we are all about.

(Just as an aside despite 92 points last season I've enjoyed these last 3 games more than many games last season).

Two strong wins that have done our GD a world of good but one against the side that might end up being historically the worst at this level since it became the Championship and a 10-man Pompey that don't look like they'll do much this term.
Not to bring the mood down as it is the first time all season things have felt better but there's still a lot for this side to prove.

Bang on, without trying to quote too many "Wilder Bingo", ethos has always played a huge part in who we are as a club. Call it grit, "Northern Bastards", whatever you want but teams especially in the Championship shouldn't enjoy playing against us. Typically physical but also under Wilder tactically good too. We don't need to be bully boys or hoof ball but it should be a fixture that the opposition say's "We know what they are about and we know we are in for a difficult afternoon/evening" we can't say we have done that yet. Although over the last 3 we have turned a corner.

I think at least 2 aren't going to have the Bramall Lane experience for much longer, you would think Godfrey and Bindon are off, not sure about Barry but wouldn't be surprised either especially now we have Bamford. It's who we bring in to replace those 2/3 that will be interesting. Are we looking for loan covering positions or players that are actually threatening a start week in week out

Real shame Cannon missed that really good chance as I thought that was the best game hes had for us and a goal would have capped it off

This has been one of Chris Wilder's key strengths during his time here. He gets players onboard.

If he'd scored it, we wouldn't have had the corner that Bamford scored from. Swings and Roundabouts. Winners and Losers. Saints and Sinners. Chas and Dave.
