CONFIRMED Patrick Bamford

This is desperation at best. Hasn’t played since May so Probably the most unfit person around and even at his best he wasn’t that good

I know we are crying out for a striker but this is begin a joke and the mind boggles at what Wilder is thinking

We are an absolute disgrace of a club at the moment

He has been training with Coventry to be fair. Hopefully almost up to speed bar actual games!!

LUFC News taking it rather well. Dare I dream he has a fabulous 2 seasons with us and scores against them next season when they're relegated. Funny old game.

Dear Patrick,
Congratulations.
You’ve actually managed the impossible.
Not scoring an open goal? Expected.
Missing a penalty? Standard procedure.
Getting injured clapping the fans? Classic Bamford behaviour.
But choosing to leave Leeds United for Sheffield bloody United…
That, Patrick, is a new personal best.
Honestly, we didn’t think you could drop lower than some of those finishing attempts, but here we are, you’ve nutmegged even our lowest expectations.
You could’ve gone anywhere:
– America
– Spain
– A quiet Championship loan where nobody’s watching
– Early retirement in the Cotswolds
But no. You sat there and thought, “hmm… what’s the most disrespectful option available?”
And signed for that lot.
The club where football goes to suffer.
The club whose highlight of the decade was simply “kicking people.”
The club players join when they want to know what it feels like to play in a windy supermarket car park.
We tried with you, Patrick. Oh, we TRIED.
We defended you when you missed sitters from six yards.
We chanted your name when you tripped over your own feet.
We even convinced ourselves your “hold-up play” was something more than accidental chest control.
And THIS is the repayment?
Joining a side whose tactical philosophy is basically run about a bit and hope someone falls over.
Fine.
Enjoy Bramall Lane.
Enjoy the hoofball.
Enjoy fans who’ll turn on you after one bad touch so violently you’ll be begging for the safe embrace of Elland Road therapy sessions.
And if you happen to score against us?
No hard feelings.
We’ll just assume it bounced in off your shin.
Sincerely,
A Leeds United fanbase going through all five stages of grief; rage being the main one.
P.S.
Try not to get injured walking out of the tunnel.
We genuinely worry.
This would make sense if it was written by a fan of pretty much any club other than Dirty Leeds, a club which prides itself on its thuggery. The Damned United indeed.

While Wednesday have the title of the most deluded fan base and rightly so.
We must be near the top of the league for having the most fanny's.

We are desperate for a Striker the Strikers we have couldn't score in Bangkok, we can only sign unattached players until January.

We have signed a player who might or might not help our situation from the small pool of players available now.

Anyone would think we have signed him on a 5 year deal on 100k a week the way some are going off.

It's for 7 weeks and you never now he might chip in with a goal that gets us 3 points.

As for anything he's done in the past I don’t care, its what he does in a United that matters.
He hasn’t scored a goal in years, had a significant injury this year and wasn’t prolific when he was fit.

Say it again, what on earth does this 7 week trial achieve? He won’t be fit and even when he was he needed loads of chances (which we don’t create) to score.

The club is panicking and have no idea what they’re doing. The only question left is will we beat the players used total from 10/11 (already at 29, 39 to beat).

As this seems like this season's signing of Marcus Bent, will it be enough to tempt back Bert to give us a Benty Banfy bulletin?

Eleven pages mostly of people facing the stark realisation that we are not very good
Next thread down tickets for Hillsborough
Twenty five pages of people realising grass is green and the sky is blue

What a great thread this is for all the sad nutters who profess to be blades but actually follow the other lot
Instead of calling people with opposing opinions to yourself ‘pigs’ and playing the massive Blade card why don’t you underline the reasons why you think signing Bamford is a good idea?

Bet he scores more goals then Brewster or Cannon in the same amount of starting matches played . Bobby davison was 32 when he played against the pigs !! Good emergency signing if you ask me !
You've hit the nail on the head, an emergency signing. If anything happens to Campbell we are in deep trouble with no proper cover as Oné is too raw and Ings and Cannon don't play that role. It's disgraceful that we are in this position but we are and there aren't many free agent strikers around.
Hopefully the new Bobby Davison but if not we've not lost much certainly less than we lost on Brewster

I've never a problem with constructive criticism ,but come on some of the anger towards him is ridiculous,I'll trust the manager and staff ,some work some don't that's football .and I don't play the massive blade I am .😉😂
Reasons for he's a different type of striker than we have
Downside would be fitness and desire has he got it

All we've done is further blocked the paths of Ryan One, Louie Marsh (scoring for fun in U21's too) and even Jevan Beattie.

Sincerely hope I end up with egg on my face and he does a great job but I just don't see it at all
OR they learn something from training with a vastly experienced Premier League/Championship striker

If we get the fit Bamford of 6 years ago he would be very handy, if we create chances. He can score from corners, is over 6ft which always helps and can take a decent penalty. He did score some worldies with Leeds, although not sure if that is still in his locker. Hopefully that nails us with 2 up top and getting creating chances with a bit of urgency. When looking on transfrmarket.co.uk for easy access to free agents, he was the only realistic target especially now when you look at the clearances needed for overseas footballers. There is still Paco Alcácer on that list but he has had a career downfall from being a Valencia, Barca and Dortmund to being released by one of the UAE clubs, after limited minutes. He is a 9 but only 5'9, not sure how fit but he was a Spanish International as recently as 2019 so imagine that would be pipe dreams.

Whilst the toys come flying out the pram, I discriminated hurled by the usual protagonists. I’d just like to point out one or two more salient facts.

1. It’s a low risk signing. On a contract until the end of January, we aren’t pot committed to giving him a longer deal.

2. We are out of the transfer window. We can only sign free agents, we can’t go and take anyone who is contracted, either on loan or transfer

3. We are woefully short up front, haven’t got a big lad up top. Bamford is over six foot tall. Campbell has fallen off a cliff. Cannon is dog shit, Ings looks like he can’t run any more, One is very raw and the Championshp is above where he is at now.

4. Last polarising striker we brought in on loan was Gary Madine and that didn’t work out too badly. Some of us have learned our lessons from kicking off at unpopular signings or managerial decisions.

So who else is free, fills some of the boxes that Bamford does and is willing to come on a 7 week contract?

Just shows how entitled some of our fans have become…..in some ways I’d love us to drop into league 2 so all the part-timers can see what’s it’s really like at a struggling club. On paper not a great signing but we’re no longer a parachute club next season so won’t have finances to dish out fancy salaries.

A short term deal on Bamford shows business competency….but agree it’s a gamble to expect him to produce at short notice.
