I'd keep Soumare, he's looked raw but a bright spark. He tries to ball carry, loves a challenge and has go-go-gadget legs.

I don't get the Ogbene pelters. He is one of the only players we have tries to run his man or take on a man. Yes, he loses possession, but that's because he's daring to take a risk in the first place.

While Arsenal and Chelsea are in 3/4 competitions it's unlikely they will let some of their players go unless they don't rate them.

How far off a return is Souttar? Is he a realistic option in Jan? We've never looked the same since he got injured last season. A back four with him and Tanganga as the CBs would give everyone a confidence boost.

Would also like us to revisit Choudhury to fill in the gigantic hole left by Vini's departure, or provide a solid and functional option at RB.

Even though individually some of our players aren't up to the standard required we should as a team be better than we are. Wilder doesn't seem to know what his best team is.

Soumare starts and does not appear in the next game. Cannon isnt on the bench but starts the next game. One comes on and not seen the next game. Barry comes on as a sub and is not seen the next game. Seriki, not seen and then comes on as a sub.
4231 formation to 3421 to 4231 then 442 last game. McGuinness has been very poor but starts every game. Have Bindon and Godfrey given up or have they been given up on?
Ridewald starts with Peck!, then Soumare starts with Peck. T Davies comes on. Shackleton and Matos come on and then not seen again. Brooks comes on. Then starts then comes on again.

The point I would make about that is, if you want to stop the rot you pick as best you can and stick to it for 3 or 4 games. The Priority should be making us difficult to score against. 9 goals shipped over 3 games.

After that it is about putting a bit of balance in the team. O'Hare is our sole creator of chances, which would be fine if the rest of the players were on the same wavelength. But they aren't.

I personally think right back and defensive midfielder are the key priorities for the first week in January, we need to move fast and be getting the deals done in advance for me. After those two positions are done, which would see us able to return to 4231 that we successfully used last season, then we have to be looking to upgrade in a number of other areas. No issue with Mee as an option but we need a left sided centre half. We need to supplement O'Hare and Hamer in the forward thinking areas so we're not reliant on starting Brooks and, if we get players in, we can send Ogbene back. I also think we need something different up top. Campbell has talent but he's a bit of a one-trick pony, we need something different to him for certain games. I also think the lack of pressure from Cannon and Ings is maybe making Campbell complacent. We've got to be looking for a target man, a Moore/McBurnie/Morris type.

I would like to see us end up like this:

I would love to see the scouting reports and valuations that we’ve done on this kid, especially considering how utterly desperate Luton must have been to offload him due to their outlay on him and current position. I’m assuming the four year deal is in some way spreading out a significant wage commitment? I’d also love to know the fee Luton actually paid and what we paid two relegations later.

I’m all for owning people in key positions but can’t help feel that we’ve lumped in on the wrong person here. I would also say that I hope he proves me wrong. Centre halves are often about partnerships and maybe we need the right blend with him. However it also smells to me that our recruitment was so scattergun at the end of the window that we just bought a bunch of individuals rather than trying to blend a team.

I’m d enough to remember Walker being recalled after a very successful loan return and everyone kicking off that we allowed that clause. Then we got Nosworthy and proudly announced that there was no option (from either side) to end the loan before the end of the season. Half way through everyone was begging for a clause to return him! so united to remove options in our favour when we’re in a position to have them.

There's nothing stopping us from loaning in more players anyway. The ones he doesn't want can just play in the u21s instead - like Barry and Godfrey did the other day

for me first priority is a big physical striker who can hold the ball up for support to arrive we get turned over far too many times because weve had nobody for this role since moore was sold

My view

Keep Soumare he has potential to develop into a Souza type player. Manager doesn't rate him though. If we can send the other 4 back we should.

I expect Hamer to go in the JTW subject to fitness. If Weeds come back in for him we should insist on Piroe and Byram on loan. Piroe wont want to come permanent. That solves forward and RB problems. Use the money we get for Hamer to go for Chakvetadze from Watford. 6 foot tall wide left and number 10. He's not British though and the current set up has a history of looking in this limited pool.

If theres any change left we have to solve the problem of a no 2 goalkeeper. Cooper is carrying an injury. Another injury and he's likely to be out for the season imo. We cant afford to manage the injury risk with a bomb scare option as back up. Go for Sam Tickle at Wigan we're already interested in him. Would also prefer Rubin Colwill at Cardiff 6 foot 2 attacking midfield player but we probably won't have enough cash left.

We're also looking at Cozier Duberry Brighton player on loan at Bolton. He would be a replacement wide right for Ogbene. If we can offload Cannon on loan to PNE we have a spare loan place left for a tall aggressive forward. The options are limited whether Osula is an option is debatable.

As for us sending out loans in addition to Cannon top of the list after the youngsters has to be Shackelton. He's a perennial sick note and we need to offload.

To conclude I only expect Cozier Duberry to come in if Brighton agree to move him from Bolton. The rest are wishful thinking. CW will spend the window trying to get Choudhury in but his wages will be a sticking point. Expect us to be looking for loans again at the last minute. Its what our recruitment model is based on. Any monies we get in for Hamer are more likely to be used to plug the perceived financial hole we have got ourselves into.

All this pre supposes we have improved on the pitch and players want to come here. Not many will if we're popping up the league.

Kozzy, would you try Ogbene alongside Campbell as a striking pair, I believe Ogbene played at Rotherham as a striker(could wrong though)
