so has Chris Porter left the club? Sheffield Advertiser reporting he could join Oldham.

His contract is due to expire and we haven't taken up the option of a years extension.

We have however offered him a new contract.

I have a feeling that Porter may choose to leave the club himself. We have already brought in McNulty, there are Sharp rumours and Evans rumours and I'm not sure he wants to be 4th on the list.

Maybe 2nd but, it could be time for him to move on.

I'd find it supprising if he join Oldham because they gave him a load a grief after he scored when we played them away from home this year.

Cloughy ain't daft. He's offered him absolutely shite terms to make sure he doesn't sign, sentiments an all that.;)

If you want a player to stay you either offer him the same or higher than what he's allready on,simple.

Didn't they just, and before he scored too, throughout the game, whilst giving Jose a warm reception. It's odd, because Porter scored loads for them and only a few for us, but if he ever played for an away team at BDTB, I reckon he'd get a great reception.

He screwed Oldham over, I was chatting to an oldham fan after the match. They don't like him because he got injured, they stuck by him and paid for his recovery then as soon as he came back from injury he signed an agreement to move to a Scottish team (Dundee United) but then changed his mind and moved to Motherwell. Due to his age they should have recieved a fee or something along those lines but FIFA ruled it as him moving to a foreign country which allows the buying club to avoid paying any fee for the player.

Or just take the option of the extra year that was already in his contract.

The guy must be pretty miffed that he's been offered reduced terms considering the amount of money his goals made the club during the F.A. Cup run. Think he was one of our lowest earners too. That's business i guess.

Offered him 6 months apparently - bit of a slap in the face!

Yes, and if he doesn't like it, get good.

I am pleased to see the club negotiating sensibly. 3 years ago they'd have picked up the option.

If it is six months then that's the strongest hint yet that a comeback for Ched has been lined up.

That's what cup bonuses are for.

Bang on. How can anyone argue that we should take up an extra year's option, agreed several years ago, without knowing the terms of that deal?

The idea that he's been playing for peanuts doesn't stand up to scrutiny, IMO. As you allueded to, 3 years ago we wouldn't have struck a good deal.

I'm miffed that he's scored 1 goal in every 4 to 5 appearances he's made for us. He's done better from us than we have from him.
