Peck

Great news for Sydie. Think playing him in a lone deep role is doing him no favours. Hopefully will come back revitalised

Watched it but most of pecks time I was on my sprint on a treadmill so didn't really focus on him too much!

Still a good achievement. Would have been a long way to go to sit on the bench!

Not really sure what Peck adds to our midfield in his current form, no output despite his hard work

its becoming concerning with peck now getting picked every game when he should have been benched for his own good at least 4 games ago he really is wilders pet

The reason he gets picked every week, irrespective of performance was right there for all to see, on the video of Wilder greeting the players for the first time after replacing Selles.

I’m sure someone can find it 😉

When every touch is a sideways or backwards pass, at some point you're going to put the opposition through on goal. That sort of goal had been coming for some time.
Really sums up pecks game, 2nd goal he gave them vs derby before he made the backwards pass, he had the opportunity to take that ball on the half turn and play a forward pass between the defence yet he wasnt alert to it or doesnt have the footballing brain for it. Arblaster wouldnt have even thought twice about doing this and definitely wouldnt have played it backwards.

Not quite sure what Peck adds to midfield, his stats are absolutely dire for a midfield regardless of age. Key passes, assist & goals - hes not defensively good enough or switched on enough to be a souza type player either.

To round it off hes 21? Playing regularly for last 2 season in the championship and I feel that Peck doesnt know what midfield role he wants to do.

Peck is playing so much because everyone else is either injured/unfit or shit in that position

We have a winner. Sheffield United's midfield rests on an academy graduate in his second season carrying it. Not only carrying it, leading it. It's hard for me to be too critical.

Sure if you ignore the injuries I guess 🤷‍♂️

Jaïro Riedewald

Why was he not used on Saturday, he needs minutes in his legs. But must be a shoe in to play on Tuesday

This. 100%. It's not like we've got peak Zinedine Zidane headbutting down the manager's door demanding a game.

I've seen Wilder and Knill work miracle after miracle in recent years but manufacturing a top end (or maybe even mid-table) Championship midfield out of our current squad might be too much to ask.

In Wilder's defence here I fully expect Peck to be dropped once he thinks Arblaster is ready to play.

What Peck needs is a bit of a rest. What he doesn’t need is load of folk giving him stick.

He’s not hidden and he’s played more games than reasonable due to necessity.

When he broke through the youth he was more attacking in nature. This stint may have helped his game long term but by no imagination was he ever a deep-lying midfielder.

The sad thing is that neither is Soumaré nor Matos. Soumaré is more of a John Fleck. He isn’t a sitter or a destroyer like Souza. If I’m not mistaken Matos would rather play a little further forward too.

All in all, pretty poor failings on the recruitment side.

I would say that Soumare can play that role and Peck does need a rest the criticism is not fair on a young lad whose had so much responsibility chucked on his shoulders. It is obvious he is struggling with it and his play has become very frustrating and cautious as sign that he is aware of and not coping with the expectation

Peck and Arblaster are completely different players with totally different skill sets. The quicker Peck can go back to the box to box role where he's facing the opposition goal and coming onto things the better.

The 2nd goal is a freak mistake but it’s the first goal why I think peck should be dropped. It’s the ultimate man v boy scenario, Carlton morris must’ve been laughing his head off when he saw who was marking him. Peck didn’t have a clue, and doesn’t have the desire or the strength to get anywhere near morris for that corner, or most opposition midfielders for that matter. He needs to go out on loan, he’s absolutely awful.
