they havent worked well together the whole time theyve both been here too many stupid flicks and tricks that rarely come off

We on the whole are a defensive side playing in set patterns we are not open in the way we play which in turn stunts forward thinking attack minded players perhaps that’s why we can’t carry players ie Cannon and also the fact that we are missing Moore to hold the ball up front, McBurnie would have been a fantastic signing but not a long term one.

Getting more goal contributions this season which he wasn't doing enough of last season.

Think he makes Campbell play better as well, as he knows where Campbell wants the pass without having to ask.

As for playing him with Hamer, I think it's tough to play both of them together as a pair of CAM's as they're trying to occupy the same space and serve as the link between midfield and attack.

In those moments it should be one dropping back to get the ball while the other pushes on to support the striker.

tactically you're right. Problem is COH isn’t strong enough to do that and Gus can’t be arsed/isn’t suited. It should be Peck but he seems devoid of confidence. Blaster needed back

Also, when Soumare gets a few more games under his belt I can see him developing into a more creative midfielder.

I agree it’s not been good for a while, but when they first played together for us they combined brilliantly. The flicks and tricks were coming off and I think some commentator said they had a ‘telepathic’ relationship.

As always, when a team is going well and winning, as we were then, individuals and combos look better than when we are losing.

Much better these past two games. I've been very critical of his output, and I stand by that, but his performances have improved a lot these last couple. A goal last game, an assist this.

Uncle Susan has a poster of him on her floor.
I think she used it as a cover whilst painting her ceiling as it has paint splatters all over it.
When he's running with the ball she calls him "pretty boy" and does the moon walk holding her fanny like wacko jacko.
It's a bit odd tbf but I just think of it as over exuberant fan worship.
Our mavis did the same with Colin Morris, till he got arrested on his drive.
I'd rather fans be over excited than all doom and gloom and negative. And be given a bit of leeway by the authorities when it comes to supporting your fav player. ❤️

Thought he was excellent tonight and good on Saturday. He has his flaws, but his effort and harassing and all round energy is superb.

If he could be more decisive in good positions he'd really be a top player. Should have been the perfect selles player but instead he's actually the key player to this iteration of wilderball. Hope he keeps it up!

Great to see that we are seeing the best if COH he is by far our best player just playing off the strikers he is a class act.

I’ve been a big critic of O’hare this season, yesterday and Saturday was much better from him and great to see.

With soumare starting to add that solidity in the middle of the park, hopefully he can now flourish higher up the field to add that support the forwards have been missing this season. Onwards and upwards Blades! 🤞

I was saying to a mate the other day that Hamer being out might be blessing in disguise. Not played well all season and he is a luxury player, which puts a bit of pressure on those around him things aren’t going well (like O’Hare). I think we look more balanced with one or the other in the side.

Mcburnie was never on his feet long enough to hold the ball up.Short memories some of our fans.Probably could have held the ball up more if he wasn't suspended or injured!

He has risen to the challenge and battle to get out of this mess.

To be fair to him. His running stats under Selles must have been still up there.

Was nice to see us running a bit more at defences last night. With the likes of COH, Brooks, Ogbene (Thought his attacking output was off yesterday though) Burrows when he came on too.

He played 146 games in 4 seasons, but don't let the facts get in the way of your imaginary stats.

There's so much bad I can say about that but I'll stick to one positive.

I've been critical of him, he was fucking excellent again today.

It's cruel that hems been on the losing team, he's got his pathetic teammates to thank for that.
He was indeed excellent. Can someone have one of their best games in a defeat? I don’t see why not. Everything we did good went through him.

I liked Soumaré too in his cameo. I think him and Riedewald is a decent option to lock down that left side of central midfield.

Peck is a young lad but we needed an alternative there on the right of centre. He doesn’t score or create. He probably needs a bit of time out of the side to take a breather. Arblaster can’t get fit quick enough. Or Davies.

Soumare and Davies as a 2 is mouth watering

Problem is, we haven't got a fit backup option for Peck so he's playing the full 90 every game.

Who's Peck's back up/replacement if all the players are fit, Arblaster? Davies?

It's currently the same with O'Hare, probably Brooks as well, at least while Hamer and Chong are both injured.

Compare that to Soumare who has Riedewald and Matos as back up options, or Burrows/McCallum, Campbell/Ings/Cannon etc.

Whether it's someone coming back from injury, or signing someone in January, Peck needs at least 1 back up/replacement, even if it's just to give him a rest every now and then.

I think we are making the same point.

If we had Davies or Arblaster back then he could get a much needed rest.

That’s just where we are.

Perhaps we could consider Matos replacing him and see if he does any better. I don’t dislike Peck, he’s young and has confidence but he shouldn’t be a first pick. He needs to add goals or assists otherwise he’s just a burden for the rest of the team.
