I think that Matos will improve as he progresses in our coaching system. He is very raw but is young and athletic and only had very limited game time.

The rest I feel will be released back to their clubs.

The pick of the bunch is Soumare who looks like a real talent. We have to get him signed up.

Don't think that we need as many players as initially feared to finish potentially 5th - 8th

Game of opinions. My opinion is if we play a back 3 the below need to be included if its our strongest eleven

Cooper
Tanganga Mcguinness
Hamer Burrows Ogbene
Campbell

We need to utilise O'Hare, Brooks, Ings McCallum from the bench

In my eyes we need another centre back which means Mee only plays a partial role, still agree with getting Robinson and RND out of the door even though this is the case.

We are crying out for decent box to box or defensive midfielder.

We need Hamer on the left in an advance position

We need more alternative options in terms of style for Campbell as he doesnt play full games and we dont have a target man option for when he needs a break, the style of game or opponent changes or when hes not fit.

We are going to have to use Bindon & Barry etc going out the door in order to improve. but realistically we cant get rid of all the loans and new signings in one window.

If we aim for middle ground, dont change absolutely everyone by the middle of January we could look like

Cooper
Tanganga - McGuinness - New CB
Ogbene - Peck - New CDM - Burrows
O'Hare Hamer
Campbell

Seriki, Reidewald, Brooks, Ings, Mee, One, Soumare, McCallum from the bench

Forget Tom Davies, its not coming good regularly - even though talent is there.

Bindon, Godfrey and Barry out the door - Not at the level
Zatterstrom out on loan for experience
New CB, New CDM, New Target man in January

Surprised you say that about Mee - I think he's a shoo-in to be a regular all season, especially under Wilder

Also think Riedewald might become a regular starter

Do we know that we can return players in January ?
I presume some contracts could state a years loan with no release clause, this could possibly suit either party.
I have no idea but people seem to be suggesting we can return any loan player we want to in January is this just a presumption or do you know for sure?
Id imagine parent clubs who see that their assets aren't getting the game time they'd expect would want them recalled with the aim of finding them a suitable loan for the 2nd half of the season? (Barry & Bindon's cases) but with Godfrey its a bit different i think

I like the look of this, but maybe the box to box midfielder you seek is Oli Arblaster !
Hoping he will be up to full speed by January.
Soumare will be a big player for us this season I think. Definitely a player there.
I think a new RB is a must, Jamee Bree's loan at Charlton ends in January, strange how the club went for Godfrey on loan when Bree was available..

Where does Chong fit in the squad? Genuinely?

Matos is very young and you don't play in the Chelsea academy if youre not good. Got to give him an opportunity.

Ogbene's final ball is certainly lacking.
Ogbene is the reason im still getting up at crazy hours to watch. Looks like he could take a game by scruff. May be a little wasteful but think he’ll improve and a genuine outlet. Dont understand the hate compared to many so far this season.

I may be in the minority here, but I’m disappointed he’s not as quick as I thought he was, maybe the Achilles injury has taken a yard off him, Blackburn broke on Tuesday night and it was ogbene vs their attacker, expected him to comfortably out pace the attacker and it was a right old battle. I do like him though, never hides

I think Ogbene's alright, he's a solid enough, mature enough Championship footballer who so far hasn't let anybody down.

Ipswich probably overpaid for him, as a few have for ex-Luton players, expecting them to be better than what they were, when in reality, they'd peaked by November in the Prem and were that bad that we even managed to turn them over.

He's not a world beater but he's quick enough and can do a job anywhere along the right hand side.

For me what won me over was getting onto the cross the ball in away at Oxford. Delivery wise he can perform, plus we need to play to his strengths

It’s not been mentioned but this season we receive our final years £35 million parachute payment.
Next year….no more parachute payments….so it’s the standard £8 million that Champiomship sides receive.

That’s a big drop in income before we even start the season….also won’t be any Steel City derby.

So in order to stay within the FFP we need to make savings of £27 million.
This means that of any club offers £15 million for Hamer or even Arblaster…..we’ll be under pressure to sell.

So regards Jan sales….it’s not fully in our control….if any club offers £20 million for Hamer….then I pretty certain he will be sold.
It might not be popular but we need to realise we currently have one of the biggest budgets in the league….next season it needs to significantly reduce.

Wouldn't be adverse to Gus going in january at all, obviously a brilliant player but he doesn't really fit in anywhere, and isn't as good as Ndiaye or MGW were to justify just playing them in a free role.

One out on loan if we can bring in 2 strikers, and see if we can take Cannon on a long walk through some woods somewhere and leave him there.

Don't get the hate Matos seems to get, he's limited on the ball but his workrate and defensive contributions are more than worth keeping around, especially when Arblaster will likely break down again once fit, TD gets injured if he even sees a football, Peck has already shown his frailties this season, but hopefully seems to have pulled through now he's established partnerships with Soumare/Riedewald.

I'd be amazed if Bindon/Barry/Godfrey are still with us by January 2nd, should hopefully free up some space for some more useful squad players

I thought both him and Barry were supposed to be lightening quick but neither appear to be

I'll be happy enough if Ogbene can just stay fit. The achilles injury will have taken something out of him but he's a good, experienced and competent all rounder down the right side and we need players like this who we can rely on

Exactly. Better someone with 80% of the ability who can be relied on 90% of the time than someone with 100% of the ability and a reliability of 60%.
