Probably our best option for that left-sided number 10 while Hamer is injured.
An assist last Saturday and involved in the build up to our 2nd tonight, should give him a good confidence boost.
Baffling why he didn't start tonight. CW fucked up by moving Cal to the left to accommodate the abysmal Cannon, much better when he came onProbably our best option for that left-sided number 10 while Hamer is injured.

Its like his mind wanders when he starts then the game starts passing him by.I just think he seems to do better coming on as a sub. When we start him he drifts out of matches.
Coming back from injury and needs to wait his turn. His best performances since stepping up ti 1st team have come as an impact player. Team selection and and subs worked perfectly.Baffling why he didn't start tonight. CW fucked up by moving Cal to the left to accommodate the abysmal Cannon, much better when he came on
I don't think starting Cannon can be seen as correctComing back from injury and needs to wait his turn. His best performances since stepping up ti 1st team have come as an impact player. Team selection and and subs worked perfectly.
Weird that when he’s played in the position he’s played in for most of his life, he looks half decent.
Even in the PL he was playing centrally a lot of the time.Exactly.
Any number of comments on various threads about Brooks being an “impact player”, more suited to coming on as a substitute.
How long is it since he actually started a game playing left side?
I stand to be corrected but my recollection is it was in the Premier League season. Last season he seemed to start exclusively wide right.
Brooks played wide left in a midfield 5 in the first 7 matches of Wilder's return: from the 0-2 against Liverpool to the 2-2 draw against West Ham draw.Even in the PL he was playing centrally a lot of the time.

He played on the left hand side of a central midfield 3, in a 4-3-3. Archer, McAtee etc were the wingers/forwards. So a 'number 8' in his first games. Then RW in a 4-2-3-1 last year. I've never seem him play left wing until this year. Last night after the subs we seemed to be 4-2-3-1 in attack/4-4-2 in defenceBrooks played wide left in a midfield 5 in the first 7 matches of Wilder's return: from the 0-2 against Liverpool to the 2-2 draw against West Ham draw.
