Football League World have revealed the estimated players' wage bill for all Championship clubs this season, with ours being the fourth highest, leading to FLW slamming our use of parachute payments as "spectacularly wasted", and calling us "the Championships biggest underachievers".

As depressing as FLW's judgement of us is, it's impossible to argue with it, at the moment.

The players should be thoroughly ashamed of themselves.

*Estimated.
'Nuff said.

The wage bill might be estimated, but the fact that we have parachute payments is just that - a fact.

Do you disagree that for a club with parachute payments, a club that finished third last season, our current position at the foot of the table represents huge underachievement?

Do you disagree that a bunch of players who've spent much of the season phoning it in, instead of doing their jobs to the best of their ability, or at the very least with a modicum of competence, should be ashamed of themselves?

We’ll definitely be in the top 6 wage spends in the league. These estimates can be wildly wrong though.

That's just the point, though, isn't it? However inaccurate the estimates are, we do have parachute payments, and we will have a higher wage bill than many in the division.

Whether or not FLW's wages estimates are correct, they are absolutely correct in saying we've seemingly wasted our parachute payments, and are hugely underachieving this season, given our shocking start to the season, and our league position.

Yes and yes.

I don't give a monkeys how we're performing as to compared how much we're paying players.

We're stuck with what we've got. Even the JTW might not be much help.

We have to hope Wilder can work out how to use the players he's got to put enough points on the board to drag us out of this quagmire.

Next season's going to be tough. No parachute payments. Best players will likely be gone. Could be another rebuild on the horizon and unlike last summer it'll be harder to attract good talent.
And which division

Right or not it's hard to take seriously an article written by a third generation Wednesday fan, as it says Estimated, but nice how she got the "money should be buying automatic promotion ", "parachute payment being wasted" and "championships biggest underachievers so far in 25/26", still at least we pay our wages!

Keep seeing a few comments on COH "being skint" "Need to sell up"

The shite brought in is the problem. COH backed the manager the last few weeks of the window. Obviously should've done it sooner like.

We sold Anel for 8m and spent that 8m on Tanganga as a replacement. That's not skint.

They're not skint, they're just blowing it all on shite. Like those lottery winners who burn through the jackpot in a couple of years and end up back at square one.

Nothing controversial about what she's said. Whether the figures are right or not, our position is not commensurate with our means and we definitely are the biggest underachievers at almost 1/4 into the season.

Seems to be a change in attitude this season. Sadly I don’t think either the Pigs or Leicester will get any pts deduction. Think it will just be embargo’s.

I'd argue that wage bill got us 92 points and 10 minutes away from a return to the PREM so it hasn't been wasted, a lot of the players are taking the **** now but to say it's wasted is a very short term sensationalist view of the first 9 matches.
