Hey people just wondering if anyone could help me out...

Does anyone know where I can find a list of the category B fixtures? A family member won a comp to go to any cat B game and was hoping to have a list to look through.

Thanks

If it's anything like last year, you will be lucky to see a single cat B league game this season. Been a few debates about it, this season will be less difficult for them to justify all games being cat A , but some of the teams we played last year, along with meagre away support, made a bit of a mockery of the ratings tbh.
I'm sure there is logic in there somewhere but it just felt like they were cashing in on our resurgence.

Best contact the ticket office.
I believe they've also got bottles of snake oil on special offer in the club shop, too.;)

I would guess at Southampton (14th Sept), Burnley (2nd Nov) & Bournemouth (8nd Feb). Palace probably would have been had it not been first game.

7xA*
Man U, Chelsea, Spurs, Arsenal, City, Liverpool, Watford (Boxing Day)

9xA
Leicester, Everton, West Ham, Norwich, Aston Villa, Newcastle, Brighton, Wolves, Palace (1st game)

3xB
Southampton, Burnley, Bournemouth

There is only one, it's the under 23 game against Port Vale at the Proact stadium 😳

Norwich, Burnley, Brighton, Bournemouth, Palace should all be cat B games

If we play Wendy in the cup I think it will be a category B or maybe C, lower league opposition you see, Dev's brother in law 😛 isn't it.

Norwich no because of previous trouble. Burnley probably not because they have a few nawty lads. Seems like it could be limited to Bournemouth and Brighton in February and Southampton in September.

Watford would probably have been one but its Boxing Day. Arsenal Home should be one as its on a Monday night, televised. Newcastle and Man City are mid week fixtures but again high profile so not Cat B.

I Would like to think all our away matches were cat C, due to us having no skill and being a team of cloggers , unfortuanately its £30 max . so we dont win that one , you can not go to any Prem away match , until you are 55 and have enough loyalty points

12 mins of extended highlights as standard for free this season? Yes ta.

You can't get them then either because the 65 and 70 year olds will have opened up an even bigger loyalty points gap

Are you saying that potential for fisticuffs is a factor in Categorisation?
Not disagreeing- just interested.

Too right. I’ll always pay extra to see a proper ruck, especially if I can stand nearby jumping up and down and giving it ‘come on you Burnley wankers’.

Just my opinion but SAG seem to have a lot of influence on this under the heading of Health and Safety. When the Narwich fans were attacked SYP when asked on Facebook why there were no police outside the ground responded by saying it was a low category game and the stewards were there to deal with it. This was hastily removed shortly after when the extent of the injuries to the Narwich fan were known.

Logic suggests if the Club have to pay out more for a higher police presence then this is going to impact on the categorisation of games and the associated costs that go with it.

Hang about near the petrol station Sunday after the game.. palace always seem to show off a bit.. oddly enough..

There were about 9 Cat B games last season

There were 6 Category B games last season: the night matches against Birmingham and Brentford, and the Saturday afternoon games versus Bolton, QPR, Reading and Bristol City.

There weren't. My lad was given 2 tickets as part of his party package at the academy, the caveat being it was for a cat B game, we went to the 4-0 home beating of reading which was months later, was on the phone regularly to the academy who were trying to squeeze us in to a cat A game which never happened.

Incidentally, in case anyone is looking to book, the football parties at the academy have gone up this season, and there are now no tickets as part of the deal as well. Not great PR from the club, it's something I want to pick up with them directly.

Sorry, i should have clarified, we were attending with kids and the cat B games on Saturday rather than night kick offs were exceptionally limited

A similar situation here this season. Family have won a couple of Cat B tickets so I thought Watford must be a cat B …turns out it isn’t. If Watford isn’t Cat B what is? Looks like free cat B tickets are a rarity, they wouldn’t even let me pay the difference …I doubt it will be a full house.

I can understand to some extent why there aren't too many Cat B games especially taking into account season ticket holders however its also similar to the offering of £1 off each home game for paying £40 to become a member, when the stadium isn't selling out, that isn't worth it. They could easily have 2 midweek fixtures that they dedicate to "special member rates" and also bring them to Cat B, the 2 that stand out are 26 Nov vs Portsmouth & 9 Dec vs Norwich. Both away teams have long distances to travel and being closer to Christmas, rather than £34 on the Kop at Cat B why not drop it to £15 all areas for members then if any left £20 on general sale

It’s exactly the same policy as last season.

The club basically choose 50% of the more attractive matches and make them cat A…..the other 50% are cat B.
However they take into account that Saturday matches are more attractive than night matches.
Also they look at spacing of cat A and cat B games.

This season every match to date has been unattractive…..so they have been cat B.
They need to space out some of the cat A’s….so people have a choice….the Watford game is after an international break…so they’ve made it cat A.
Last season we had Hull and Stoke as cat A’s too.

At least the match day prices haven’t increased this season.

Some people complain about prices, we charge some of the highest in the league
But we also have one of the highest player budgets in the league too.
So if the club are showing ambition by keeping the best players and offering big salaries…then the fans generally need to show ambition too and support it.
Agree there needs to be the odd, well advertised, “fill the stadium” game with much cheaper tickets.

It’s not really a complaint. These are tickets given as a prize to a primary school so night time games are not exactly ideal (I would have thought the club would realise this) however I didn’t realise all games so far have been cat B so that’s my fault for not checking. I’m a season ticket holder so I am doomed to have to attend these games anyway 😀 Anyway the next one we are looking at is Oxford on the 4th Jan…if that’s Cat A I give up.

Don't think Bristol c, Millwall and Saints would've been Cat B?

There’s not yet been a single cat A this season…..Watford will be the first.

Bristol City, Millwall and Southampton were all category B’s (prices starting at £30+ £1 booking fee on the Kop whereas cat A start from £36+£1 booking fee on the Kop) and home to Charlton was the, new for this season category C, which was £25 anywhere in the ground.

However the club are making up for lost ground because the 2 matches after Watford are also cat A. Can understand Derby Co being a cat A but there’s no way QPR could be classed as one of our more attractive matches this season…that fixture has always been category B in the past.

HermitageBlade,
Home to Leicester on 1st Jan will be cat A…..so pretty certain the Oxford home match 3 days later will be cat B.

I presume there will also be a category A* for the Pigs game as well.

As far as I could tell earlier in the season, United had communicated nothing about categories or prices for the pay on the day tickets. It was a surprise when the Charlton game was a cat 'C', as it hadn't been mentioned previously. Like most other things around the club at the moment, 'half arsed' is a polite description

Yeh pretty sure Wedneday game will be cat A*…….they’ve charged rip off prices for that game and we always easily sell out a week before the match.
So anyone with business sense is unlikely to change it.

Regards ticket prices…this never gets a mention
But do people realise that we charge some of the highest prices in the entire EFL….last season we were the 4th most expensive. Everyone goes on about Sheff Wed rip off prices but our match day prices are virtually the same and also our season tickets are only about 6% cheaper (based on early bird).

As we are overall cheaper than them lot at S6, our fans seem happy but don’t realise that last season they had the 2nd highest prices in the league.
Also the headlines about their season tickets being nearly £800 is fake news, those prices are in their most expensive stand if you delay paying leaving it until phase 3.
Obviously almost all the SW season tickets are bought in phase 1 early which on average are 6% more expensive than ours.
Altho our South stand seasons tickets costs more to renew than their north stand season tickets (at early bird prices).

Sorry I got confused with Cat C (the cheap price)
