Gus should have had 2, we had one cleared off the line, missed a penalty and Cannon missed a simple header.
Compared with previous games that's a big improvement

Its better, a lot better, and if you were at Swansea, we are like Liverpool compared to the madness seles was overseeing that day.

But we are not dominating games when we have no goals... we are going down at this rate, and everybody has a right to complain..

I'll start to worry when people aren't kicking off, we'd have then become plastic Blackburn rovers types..

I'd like to see that pair up top too. We look much more solid but still lack a bite up top. We've had our moments sure, but we need to consistently be putting pressure on opponents, forcing the over of possession occasionally. A front two of Campbell and Ings could work. The ball would generally be needed to get as neither are particularly tall and I think their strengths are with the ball to their feet I could see some nice interplay between them and they could cause most defenses in the league a problem.

Campbell alone up top currently just doesn't bring enough to the team. His drop off this season has been stark but he has shown glimpses

If you watched the game we fucking battered them. We were quicker to the ball, we knocked it about, we fought for it but all you see is we lost again and the meltdowns start. We gifted them a goal yet again, a fucking disaster at the back but we did more than enough to win that game. Hit the post, biggest goal mouth scramble in history and we picked the wrong player to take the pen. If you didn't see a big improvement it's because you didn't want to. We were vastly improved on recent performances and I'm optimistic we'll start picking points up soon.

Agreed, mate. What is there to whine about when we have lost 8 games in 9. Today we were totally dominant - I don't think I can remember such quality performance from the boys in a long while. You are right, we are going to start collecting points galore shortly. It is obvious that wins are coming based on what we have done so far this season.

Exactly, we had more clear cut chances to win that match than any game we have played this season.

It's true what they say though, when you are in that relegation zone any sort of luck seems to disappear. The winning goal for them is a deflected shot after we have just smashed the post of their goal.

True but prior to today and most of the season those other stats were awful.

Now those stats look like a team that should be scoring and unlucky not to rather than a team that doesn't look like creating a chance.

We should have got at least a draw or win today and if it wasn't for that bellend of a ref the other night a draw against Soton.

It’s unlucky if you’ve battered the opposition and made their keeper pull off numerous saves. We had a long shot from Gus that he tipped around the post and Burrows passed a penalty to their keeper.

Apart from that, Peck headed it over the bar from 2 yards out with no one in front of him.

Hamer was unlucky with the left foot effort at the post, that’s it.

We’d make some luck if we attacked the opposition more frequently. It’s hard to be lucky with 5 yard passes in the centre of the pitch and the occasional % hoof to the channels.

People quoting today’s stats as validation for a dominant performance clearly don’t understand how football works. Hull shut up shop at 1 nil and allowed us to have the ball. We did next to nothing with it. The stats just show how inept we are at defending and attacking in that we conceded a soft goal and didn’t score a penalty.

No, but we aren't getting any either. Although missing penalties doesn't help.

We are definitely in the shit, no question, but I can see some improvement since Wilders return. These players need to get their fingers out though, and quickly.
 
We are going backwards. Poor summer recruitment of players and manager, now compounded by bringing an ex manager back who lacks the fresh ideas and impetus we desperately need.

Wilder isn't the man to take us forward in the future IMHO so this season has become a car crash of bad decisions.

If this 2 week break doesn't see any improvement in fitness and tactics....he should go too. We have to start afresh at some point and there would still be half a season to go.

Having watched the highlights we actually looked the better side and should have at least drawn. Sadly we lost again. We have to start keeping clean sheets at some point as we wont score many. But I suspect we wont.
Even if we play 2 up top I suspect we will still be awful sadly. It's one of those years.

Still no end result 3 league wins since beating Coventry in April total of ( I think ) scoring 8 goals in 15 league games 3 wins 1 draw 11 losses
