I was up for it but said it relied on posh collapsing , but fair play to them they fought back enough to hold on, thought 68 to 73 was possible

Well done Mystic Meg :)

However, I was going from the Crewe debacle which was the culimantion of 5 games where we had only taken 2 points and where relegation looked a seriously possibility.

Edit: 4 games and 1 point actually!
I have to admit, even my optimism took a knock towards the end of that spell but I genuinely had every faith in us racing up the league even with a blip. You could tell a run was around the corner. And indeed I am left to lament us not sacking Weir sooner.

An we've enjoyed watching some great football along the way, I can't wait to be watching us again next season fighting in the top 3-4 positions.

nearly a miracle , but the main change is the enjoyment of restoring the pride, we can believe again

This.
It's just good to see some decent football again but Cluffy has made a rod for his own back and he needs to watch out, he will not get so much understanding next season if we struggle to get going.
Nothing less than promotion (not play offs) will be viewed as success next season and from a personal view I think the League Title is the only aim we should have from day one.
Wolves had it this year we have to have it next year.
If there is any financial backing at all it further increases the advantage we already have over other 3rd Division clubs.
No excuse for failure next season

We really don't want Birmingham to come down. They still have parachute payments from their PL relegation in 2011 and, as Wolves showed this season, that gives a massive advantage at this level.

I think Brum are really in the s*** and I think that I read that 24 of their players are out of contract and all their loan players go back. I would expect that they go into admin and end up dropping straight through

If you had told me after Crewe away that we would have had nothing to play for in the last three games I would have assumed you would be saying we had already been relegated, in fact after looking at the fixtures following that Crewe game I had Tranmere away on Easter Monday as a relegation decider.

Remarkable turn around and big kudos to Clough and his team.

Do we get more prize money for finishing higher in the league? If so, how much are we talking?

nearly a miracle , but the main change is the enjoyment of restoring the pride, we can believe again

Absolutely. I've been to the last three away games, despite us having nothing to play for, because it's enjoyable and decent football (Tranmere apart)

Well done, you were much more optimistic than I was at that point and Dazzler's being churlish with his Mystic Meg comment.

I believe any parachute money brum had is well and truly spoken for , if they do drop could be the end coventry style for them

The winners only get around £25,000, so i'd imagine the difference if any between 8th and 9th is peanuts

That's pretty shit for winning the league. It's no wonder why smaller clubs need a good cup run every season.

Anyway I think I mentioned earlier had we had a blinding season like we did under Wilson and got 90pts this season we still would have been in the play offs.

How many consecutive seasons have we've finished in a lower position? Must be pushing 50 now.

We've finished in a lower position than the season before in every season since 2008 / 09, when we finished 3rd in the Championship

It's also the 5th lowest position we have finished in our history - only from 1979-83 did we finish lower.

What tosh! Wolves are rubbish, I can't believe anyone thinks they'll win the League!

Sorry, wait a second, I mean what tosh! Birmingham are rubbish, I can't believe anyone thinks they'll win the League!

On your point about it being our 5th lowest finish ever, it's also I believe the fifth consecutive season in which we've finished lower than the previous. Of course you can counter that with the massive momentum swing mid-season.

Wolves did what Clough started to get to , but luckily for them they didnt have the 20 game set back Weir caused
momentum is something you need for a full season , we get that next season
