No, they are opinions. Why am I embarrassing myself.

the same head of recruitment that was put in place by Wilder, hence the pivot towards more ‘traditional’ targets at the end of the window. But here's a question who actually signed/picked these players..Sellers or Bettis/COH ?????
He has a 2 year contract. Next season is the one to judge whether he has changed, assuming that we move positively forward this season.Should think he will galvanise the fans…..Wilder has charisma and is a fantastic upbeat/ realistic speaker
But even though I’m a a big fan of Wilder I did notice several faults with him last season.
We received loads of stick from opposition fanbase saying we were so average and to be honest in quite a lot of games it was true.
We seemed to treat every game like a cup final and fought our way to an unconvincing 1-0 win most weeks. Thought it was weird how Wilders 2nd spell (negative with players not gelling) was nothing like his 1st spell (where we were positive looking so well drilled).
However Selles has been so bad…..it’s lowered expectation…so it’s now back to basics and I’ll take those unconvincing 1-0 wins any day of the week now.
We’ve seen with our own eyes Wilder is capable of miracles so I don’t rule anything out regards Chris Wilder and promotion is still possible.
The laws of football require us to take them when the opposition has conceded them. The rest of your points are your opinions, some of which I share.Well im not happy, but people have short memories and wear Wilder Blinkers.
But here are a few reminders
Cannon
Robinson starting every game.
Winning the ball in defence moving a few yards forward then doubling back and passing it backwards or sideways.
Corners what's the point us taking them Wilder, the opposition are more likely to score from them than we are.
Taking an attacking player off and putting McCallum on after 65min.
I thought that in the time between Wilder going & returning ALL the Wilder group had left ?the same head of recruitment that was put in place by Wilder, hence the pivot towards more ‘traditional’ targets at the end of the window.
Why is the corner thing stupid ?No, they are opinions.
Robinson in some people's opinions was a solid championship defender.
Substitutions aren't always black and white, taking a forward off and putting in a midfielder or defender is often a tactical ploy to try different approaches, , sometimes beyond the knowledge of the fans.
Your other two points are non sensical. Loads of teams played that way, not my cup of tea , but not just a Wilder, or even an Alan Knill thing. And if you'd maybe noticed, the fashion is changing again....long ball and long throws are coming back... Maybe Robbo might be back in Jan eh
The corner thing is just fuckin stupid...
I get you don't like him with some veracity it would seem, but try a bit harder to justify the hate instead of the previous piss poor effort.
What do you suggest we do with the corners ? Kick them out for a goal kick ?Why is the corner thing stupid ?
How many goals did we actually score from corners last season ?
I get substitutions are not Black and White but to keep doing the same substitution and sitting back on slender leads.
Who are these people who thought Robinson was solid championship defender because most of the comments about him on here were not lets say very complimentary.
I don't know I didn't count, but most teams don't often score from corners, people get fixated with them. Far more goals come from open play or free kicks. Why is the corner thing stupid ?

His points are all valid.Stop embarrassing yourself![]()
Not in my opinionHis points are all valid.
I really liked RobinsonWhy is the corner thing stupid ?

I actually thought he was ok.I really liked Robinson
Very selective. There were hundreds of fantastic memories.Well im not happy, but people have short memories and wear Wilder Blinkers.

Cheets ' reply in a Facebook group made me giggle.
The next time your wife is annoyed with you, move out and get another bloke to move in who pisses all over the carpets and leaves take away boxes everywhere. Then she'll be ecstatic when you move back in.
Ruben Selles proved that this is a common problem and not just a Chris Wilder problem.Corners what's the point us taking them Wilder, the opposition are more likely to score from them than we are.
I really don’t see these things as mutually exclusive. In the short term, we can stop the rot on the field, and in the medium term build something exciting, modern and progressive that includes Wilder. Change needs to happen incrementally over time, not in an overnight transition.Whilst I’m not going to quibble too much about Wilder 3.0, I do wonder how we’ll build something exciting, modern and progressive. Or has pragmatism and the immediate need to climb up the table mean we’ve given up on that notion?
Maybe but on the flip side, the contract was on the cards with Brewster, Robbo wouldn’t have been sold under Wilder either. I am not sure what players we would have looked at but I doubt it would have been Mee and Ings. Be interesting to see if he brings back any coaches with himTbh Wilder shouldn't have been sacked, he should have been given the chance to rebuild the team again and go again then IF things weren't going in the right direction then let him go.
Now he's taking on a group of players who were not brought in by him, having said that some of the signings aren't that bad.

This completely bang on!I do think there is one dynamic in all of this that the COH directors completely misunderstood.
Here in the US, professional sports is all about the entitled. What I mean by that is there is no promotion or relegation in any sport at the professional level. For example, COH stands for Cleveland, Ohio (COH) and Cleveland and Cincinatti have NFL teams that usually fail season after season. Stadiums and arenas are usually communiuty owned and are always maintained. Ownership usually doesn't have to fork out millions of $'s to upgrade stadiums. A great example is where I live: Cincinatti (I believe) is getting a new stadium and they won't nned to pay 1$ towards it; it will be paid out of a state program for uncollected funds from companies and orgranizations.
But what happens to professional teams that fail in the US? Nothing! The top draft picks always goes to the worst team in that sport in that season. This means that the best potential college players (22 - 23 years of age) go to the worst teams.
The worst teams don't get relagated, they may trade players, but the revenue is always there through TV. Ticket prices for the worst teams are very high and there is always a sold out stadiumfor each team.
As COH is American based, I believe that may have misunderstood what it takes to run a football program in the UK: passionlate fans, limited revenues, promotion and relegation, and the more serious consequences of decisions in football than in US based sports.
Just my thoughts,

I don't think we were great attacking corners even with big Harry Souter in the team, we have not been good from corners for a long while - Set piece coach?Ruben Selles proved that this is a common problem and not just a Chris Wilder problem.
Across all football, only about 1in 30 corners leads to a goal. We're crap at them, but pretty much everyone else is too. What do you suggest we do with the corners ? Kick them out for a goal kick ?
Not many teams score goals from corners, but I thought many of ours were ok. Having more height this season may help.
A nice summary of the profound differences between high level US professional sport and the UK football leagues. The geographical separation between the two is small in comparison to the financial and cultural differences.I do think there is one dynamic in all of this that the COH directors completely misunderstood.

The atmosphere is crap at the Lane regardless. I don't see any reason why that would change. It was crap when we were top five in the Prem playing champagne football. You'd have to go back to 2002/3 for decent atmospheres at the Lane.
What may have happen is that some of the more deluded Wendsdayesque fans may wind their necks in a touch now they've had a taste of reality. It will only be a minority though. It takes a lot to admit you were wrong. Instead they'll pivot to the next character assassination and spread poison in a different way. You can already see it beginning to happen on here. Wilder is mad to come back with his spade to once again get this ungrateful lot out of the shit, but that's the measure of the the man. He's worth 100 of any of his detractors
Do you know what I like? Winning games of football more often and under Wilder we do. He aint gonna pull up trees and likely we aint going to go up but by jove we'll at least pick up some bloody points.Well im not happy, but people have short memories and wear Wilder Blinkers.
