Sorry chaps but listening to this, he's staying put. Can't say I blame him as he's still pretty new in the job and desperate to do well. Made a few good signings in Godfrey, Ings and Tanganga and should we get another one or two in who improve the squad, who knows. International break, an extra week to try and get everyone on board and if we still look shite then it's never going to work so that'll be the point of no return I'd guess. Not sure what the owners are thinking, they're invisible so who knows.

I'd normally be frothing at the mouth to be honest but seeing that 'sacked in the morning' shite after the game was fucking cringeworthy for me, and I actually felt sorry for the bloke. Whoever came in after Wilder was going to be met by weeping and wailing from the poor little lambs who'll never get over losing 'Our Chrissy' and even if we'd won four on the bounce they'd still be fucking moaning.

Anyway, fuck Danny Rohl because talk of getting him is fucking embarrassing. Lets see what the transfer window brings and try to chill a bit, Bill Shankly was wrong, it's really not more important than life or death.

I don't think he will be given the choice depending on the next game.

We definitely looked better when we went to 3 at the back. Hopefully he will see sense and go with 3cbs.

Whatever happens, he needs some time to actually decide and train the players. We gutted the team and are slowly getting new players in.

I don't like us losing either, but we've got to be grown ups - the context of the defeats is pretty clear - the club weren't ready for these matches. Not Selles... the club weren't ready.

I really hope next season is the first for ages that we're actually ready for. After lessons learned etc.

Selles seems smart and seemed popular at former clubs. If we can't believe better is to come, supporting a football team is pretty pointless.

He needs fucking off ASAP. Clueless, gutless, weak. We are an absolute shambles, rudderless in fact.

The players don't appear bothered on the whole and don't look to be buying into his philosophy. Without Tanganga yesterday would have been 5 or 6.

It's a matter of time before he gets the boot, he's not going to turn things around so get shot now and give Dyche or Cooper whatever they want to try and turn this absolute shit show around.

Pathetic.

We won't get Dyche or Cooper, and Wilder isn't coming back so then what? The owners aren't football men, they brought Selles in based on something or other but if that's who they saw as the answer they won't be admitting failure any time soon.

Yes, and I was saying exactly the same things two games ago.

Unfortunately it’s now inevitable his time with us is over.
It’s obvious to us all that morale is low amongst this previously high functioning group of players.

Unlike yourself, I don’t have a bee in my bonnet about Chris Wilder. But I do feel it would be highly embarrassing to even consider bringing him back.

We don't look that much different to how we did at Oxford and Plymouth at the end of last season to be honest.

Yes that week was a total aberration, and the playoff final debacle was there for all to see.
But Wilder planted himself so deeply into this team’s psyche… The light seems to have gone out in all of them….So, what do we do now?
Piling fresh wood onto a wet fire ain’t gonna achieve anything. Tanganga was the last man through the door and easily looked our best player at Boro, but with this manger and his nondescript way of playing football, players like Tanganga are inevitably going to succumb to the toxic atmosphere that surrounds this team.

Load o' blather (from Selles, not you)

In an ideal world you get a seamless transition when you get a new manager and player turnover but we all know this is not an ideal world.

I respect the fact that the manager took responsibility in front of the fans yesterday - which I couldn't imagine Chris Wilder or many other managers doing.

I don’t want Shefield United to be the sort of club who sacks managers after 4 league games. It can't go on forever of course but I would rather accept this as a transitional season and give him 10 games to at least get us half way up the table.

I can’t argue with any of that…But unfortunately I think the die was cast after the Bristol City game (our best performance) when he publicly berated players he barely knew on the pitch afterwards. This for me was a lame, performative gesture that backfired and ultimately set the story for what has followed.
Yes, after the initial shock of the Wilder sacking, it was quite easy to be engaged by Selles’s serious young man persona, but underneath it all certain things needed to be addressed first. This team were still coming to terms losing a big set piece final as well as losing a father figure type of manager to boot.
I honestly think Selles could have trodden little more carefully on his arrival.

Unfortunately for Selles, when we’ve all come to terms with this being a “transitional season”….It will be far too late for him.

I honestly don't know what we do now and that saddens me no end. The last few years we became a very well established club, we had good players, stopped giving them away and we looked set for a bright future. In a matter of months we've spiralled into a club in total disarray. To some end I blame Wilder for that. He made it about him, surrounding himself with his mates and taking over the club if you would. When the new owners came in they weren't happy that he had so much power and ousted him. That had a lot bigger knock on effect than simply replacing a manager. Not sure the owners knew just how deep his influence was and appointing such an inexperienced manager to come in and overhaul everything needed a bigger man than Selles.

The players looked shell shocked standing in front of the fans at the end of the game today, that didn't do anybody any favours.

The interviewer is almost apologetic asking him some of the questions but they needed asking. I thought he dealt with the fans singing for him out question well but the rest was pure bollocks from someone who can be likened to a flailing fish out of water at this point.

The players need to be the focus of fans anger too

They're underperforming woefully and bottling it, just like they did in the important games last season

That started under the last regime and all the noise around Wilder doesn't cover it at all.

The club needs to move on from CW, and the toxicity that will affect every manager who comes in and doesn't get off to a decent start

And, why is it always just about CW?

Where's the references to Knilly?

The quiet man who was, at least, 50% of all the success CW had at a few clubs. The one who works at international level in European and world competitions.

The man who was a gent, allways respectful and professional.

Ignorance of him underscores the neediness and narcissism about a single character.

Our club needs to grow up, move on and take some pain to do it

And so do the fans

Tanganga was a stand out yesterday. The rest went missing.

Again.

Travelling up & down the country following our team and watching God awful tactical decisions and team that is good enough to be picking up points just look so devoid of any idea what there meant to be doing/playing absolutely no structure to the team a midfield that everybody can see is not working, we have as fans every right to vent our feelings and if that's singing your getting sacked in the morning then so be it. How else are we meant to let the owners and this fraud know we don't want him here? He's had plenty of time to figure out a system that works but he can't because he's a total fraud and absolutely clueless. I don't like the singing for wilder he's gone and not coming back neither would I want him back but this man has to be sacked and he will be sacked.

It was always going to be hard for him, as sacking Wilder divided the fan base. The Wilder in faction, think there's a chance of getting Mardyarse back, so Selles failing ATM plays right into their hands.

We had a good pre-season so I think the players had bought into the philosophy. I still think we are shell shocked after the first 10 minutes of the 2nd half against Bristol City. We still.look dazed and confused.

He needs to implement change slowly. Play 4-4-2 or 3-5-2. Our midfield is being overrun, it offers no defensive or attacking support. Our wingbacks aren't working hard enough on their defensive play.

If he can't see what's in front of him, and is too stubborn to change, then he goes.

He's got 6 more games for me (the league cup is a glorified pre-season friendly). 4 wins minimum in the next 6 games, or he's out.

That's what I'd be doing if I ran the club.

The owners aren't there mate, I'm not sure they give a fuck so giving Selles pelters might not make a jot of difference. I don't think he's a fraud to be honest, they saw something they liked in him and he's probably doing what he said he would. Works great on FIFA 25 but we're seeing first hand that in real football man management is right up there with tactical know how. Personally I think they'll keep him till October/November and I hope he's turned it round if they do because if not you'll be heading to the likes of Rotherham and Donny next season and that would be a fucking tragedy.

They might not be there mate but surely they'll see the reaction and realize all is not well. More importantly to them they'll see the business they've bought and are putting money into is failing and failing fast that is something they won't put up with you would think anyway. The man is a disaster that we can't carry on with an hope something clicks, it just isn't going to. The time to go is now. Donny could actually pass us they've started brilliant this season. 👍🏻

He’s already cooked. The fans have gone and he won’t get them back. It’s beyond the point of no return already.

No matter who the manager is on Tuesday then unless we've brought a big CF who can hold the ball up as well as winning headers, this group of players (not really a team yet) cannot function properly no matter what the formation. Also handy to have such a player to defend free kicks and corners.
Wrexham got one for around 2 million so It should be relatively easy for us to get one.

He’s out of his depth, simple as, and everyone can see it, including the players.Oh, he’s gone alright, it’s just a matter of when.
We have a decent Championship squad, they are just being coached and managed very very badly. Not giving them a free pass by the way, some of them need to look at themselves, but the team selection and set up, borders on gross negligence.
Does the board, wait and give him 10 games before pulling the trigger, as Wednesday did, with their joke of a manager, last season, or do we do it now, or after the Ipswich game? Waiting 10 games will be catastrophic for our season, as it nearly was for our neighbours.
Personally, I feel we need to get someone in place before he is sacked, and that process needs to be begun now and very quickly.I’ve no idea who is making the decisions in terms of recruitment at the Lane, but I hope to God, they turn to someone with some football nous,to find a replacement.
