I’m going to defend him slightly as he was my first choice.

He’s been hamstrung by the board, but the tactics so far have been baffling.

I can only apologise if true, I was certain there was a tribute on Radio Sheffield for him last year, hence saying what i said. Speaking to colleagues at work they thought they had heard the same tribute. I don't know him personally so can only apologise for any misunderstandings caused.

Brian did stop calling in all of a sudden, so I wondered myself if he had slipped away.
 
Brian is not doing very well at the moment but is very much with us thankfully. I got the wrong Brian, sorry for any confusion.

The FH team account doesn’t seem to have posted for over a month. Probably found it a bit more difficult than hanging up on a caller and having a laugh between themselves afterwards.

Staton’s behaviour has taken any veneer of non bias credibility and professionalism from the show. It can wither on the vine now, existing with endless calls from Pissy Pants until like all local radio it is dumped as an irrelevance.

Yesterday, he took it to a new level of bias (and I have no complaints usually about his commentary on United, or even on his narrative about us on FH. A porker rang in with a praise for Rueben Selles and no criticism from Staton, allowed him to have his hilarious say and then asked him about W*dnesday.

A bit later, a Blade phoned in with a praise for Chansiri, possibly in retaliation and Staton shut him down straightaway with snarky comments along the lines of he thought he was being funny, but he wasn’t and that he’d just embarrassed himself with the call.

One rule for one eh Rob?

This isn't what happened at all.

A Sheffield Wednesday fan made a clear jokey remark, and was then pressed by the presenter to talk about his own team.

A Barnsley fan ended his call (it wasn't a Blade) saying, in essence, he couldn't wait to see Wednesday go out of business. It wasn't a joke and felt unnecessary, spoiling what was otherwise a decent conversation about the Reds.

Meanwhile, we did a Blades special tonight with a rare Sunday show.

There's really no need to accuse us of bias.

With the hotbed of football that South Yorkshire is, including Chesterfield,
you surely should be open to scrutiny? Everybody knows Rob Staton's a Wednesday supporter,
what's the problem with that being made public instead of subterfuge? Be open with the supporters
in South Yorkshire, maybe you'll not get supporters switching off?

Nobody was cut off.

We often respond to scrutiny, and have always been happy to answer questions on here.

Contrary to what many believe, the presenters are not fans. They simply don't live in that world. They've chosen careers that mean that just isn't a part of their life. I know some people can never accept that, but it's the truth.

I mean you had to didn’t you with the wall to wall Wendy coverage and multiple specials.

Mind you the Wednesday coverage probably makes up for all those years you went along with the Wednesday narrative of everything is fine while the house was burning down… the fans and the local media have been enablers to what’s happened across the city,.. and now you’re all sqeelling like pigs…. I’d come on the show and express my POV, but you’re not allowed an opinion out side of what Staton thinks, so there’s no point. FH totally needs a reset, it’s dying on its arse.

Rob Staton was a prolific poster on Owlstalk for years.
He's a Sheffield Wednesday supporter. Why not just say?
He was openly congratulated by Neil Hargreaves and many other
forum contributors for progressing thru' his journalism courses.

My dad, was part of that contingent. Ask him about WolfeTone.
 
What do this FH team expect from having a one-hour Sunday special?

Medals?

It should be a given, there's been numerous 'Wednesday Specials' throughout the pre-season,
or are these 'specials' only to be based on listening figures?
